SDF to Resolve Anglophone Crisis in 100 Days
The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has assured Cameroonians that the SDF Party will resolve the socio-political crisis currently rocking the North West and South West Regions within 100 days if voted to power..
The assurances were made by Hon Joshua Osih, the SDF Presidential Hopeful on September 27, 2025 at the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grand Stand in the North West Region during the party's kick-start of nation-wide campaigns ahead of the October 12, 2025 Presidential election.
Speaking to the thousands of SDF militants and sympathisers who thronged the Grand Stand for the event, the SDF Presidential candidate who doubles as the SDF Chair intimated that the raison d'être for the SDF start-off of nation-wide campaigns in Bamenda was because Bamenda is the birth place of the SDF party coupled with the fact that most of the liberties the State of Cameroon enjoys today were given birth to in Bamenda. To this, the party traced the sacrifices the North Westerners have had to make with their blood from the 1984 through the fight for multi-partyism in 1990 with the creation of the SDF party, through the fight for the creation of Cameroon GCE Board in 1993 till date.
The SDF Presidential Hopeful listed the following, amongst others, as the party's pathway to resolving the Anglophone crisis within his very first 100 days in office if voted: "For us to be able to solve the root causes of the crisis which are political, we need to be able to discuss openly and frankly. At the end of this discussion, we will table by way of a referendum, a new Social Contract, that's is, a new Constitution which is federal by nature with a semi parliamentary regime. I think that will solve at least 70% to 80% of the problems that were raised in the first place of the crisis" he averred.
Borrowing from.Brazil and Columbia which had the same problems, Osih stated that the party will first of all separate the violence from political issues. The next thing will be to silent the guns. The SDF Chair further divulged that apart from incarnating the unbearable qualities of a courageous leader, another step the party will take under his leadership in a bid to build trust among Cameroonians will be to free all political prisoners.
"Moreso, we have the solid social and economic programme that we are proposing to take Cameroonians out of poverty, to be able to deliver the services Cameroonians have been waiting for, for 65 years: electricity, water, infrastructure, healthcare, education etc. Above all these, Cameroon needs a new system and I am the only candidate proposing a new system. All the other candidates want to replace a king on the throne, but I am coming with a new orientation. I say, we need to give back power to the people and by way of federalism", Joshua Osih re-assured.
Speaking earlier, Benjamin Fru Ndi, the SDF Campaign Manager for the October 12, 2025 presidential polls and son of erstwhile SDF Chair, late Ni John Fru Ndi reminded the North West popolation of the hurdles they have gone under the present regime. He ended his address by calling on all and sundry to rally behind Hon Joshua Osih, the best Presidential.candidate.

October 12 Presidential Campaigns:
CPDM Speakers Hail Biya as Best Candidate.
Speaker after speaker has hailed incumbent President Paul Biya as the unmatched candidate among the 12 postulants for the October 12, 2025 Presidential Election in Cameroon.
This was during the Regional Campaign Launch ahead of the said Presidential Election that held at the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) Party's Congress Hall, Bamenda, North West Region on September 27, 2025.
To set the ball rolling, Prime Minister Emeritus Philemon Yang, the CPDM Campaign Team Leader who doubles as Head of CPDM Party's Permanent Delegation to the North West Region told the population that although all 12 candidates vying for the post of the President of the Republic are good Cameroonians, none has the experience and leadership pedigree comparable to that of Mr Paul Biya.
Similarly, from the YCPDM 1B Section President, Nche Fru Abongwa through the WCPDM Section President for Momo, Mrs Massanga Louise to the Mayor of the Bamenda City Council, Paul Achobong Tembeng, successive speakers variously described the CPDM flag bearer as a man imbued with an unparalleled experience, a visionary peace builder, a democrat, the father of multi-partyism in Cameroon, a humanist, the best to accelerate the 2035 Emergence, a man for dialogue and national unity, a freedom of speech advocate, a man who has decided to invest more on healthcare and road constructions because he understands the suffering of the common man etc.
As if the Bamenda Congress Hall were expecting an August guest, the hall and its courtyard were carefully festooned with CPDM party paraphanelia. Conspicuously printed on the CPDM eLectoral'posters carrying an enlarged image of CPDM party's candidate were phrases like: Bui For Paul Biya 2025: Great Nation, Great Future, Mezam with Paul Biya: For Peace and Stability. The party fabrics in which the CPDM militants and sympathisers clad gave the hall and its environs a butterfly-like beauty!
After the Regional Launch that assembled over 4000 CPDM militants including party sympathizers, the Divisional and Sub-Divisional Team Heads are expected to take the relay baton with the same euphoria to the Divisions and Sub-Divisions. This, according to the Electoral Code will continue till October 11, 2024 at mid night.
Remarkably present at the event whose activities were punctuated by socio-cultural displays from dance groups from the North West Region were: H.E Adolphe Lele Lafrique, North West Governor, Prof Fru Angwafo III, President of the North West Regional Assembly, Minister Mbayu Felix, Minister Delegate at the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Commonwealth, Prof Paul Mingo Ghogumo, Minister in charge of Mission at the Presidency, Fai Yengo Francis, the National Coordinator for Disarmament, Demobilsation and Reintegration (NDDR), Akwa Patrick, Board Chair for CAMWATER amongst others.

He further stated that Government has completed compensations to all the affected which rose from FCFA 600 million to FCFA six billion and finally to an actual disbursement of over FCFA three billion following World Bank standards. The MINTP boss stressed that the few persons pending compensations are those whose files warrant legal proceedings to determine the rightful person in the disputing families to benefit.
