Vergangene Woche hatte die Österreichische Botschaft in Kopenhagen die Freude, Alumni und Freund*innen der Central European University (CEU) in der Residenz von Botschafter Dr. Andreas Riecken zu einem besonderen Abend anlässlich des 35-jährigen Jubiläums der Universität willkommen zu heißen. Der Empfang bot Gelegenheit für inspirierende Gespräche, Networking und einen spannenden Austausch über die CEU-Community und ihre Zukunft. Vielen Dank an alle Gäste, die zu der besonderen und herzlichen Atmosphäre des Abends beigetragen haben. Wir freuen uns auf viele weitere Jahre des internationalen Dialogs, akademischen Austauschs und der Zusammenarbeit. 🇦🇹🇩🇰

Last week, the Austrian Embassy in Copenhagen had the pleasure of welcoming alumni and friends of the Central European University (CEU) to the residence of Ambassador Dr. Andreas Riecken for a special evening celebrating the university’s 35th anniversary. The reception brought together guests from different backgrounds for inspiring conversations, networking, and exchanges about the CEU community and its future. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a warm and engaging atmosphere. We look forward to many more years of international dialogue, academic exchange, and connection. 🇦🇹🇩🇰

Die österreichische Künstlerin, Shatalova, ist Teil der Gruppenausstellung The Factory, Reaching for the Other, in der ehemaligen Heringsfabrik in Djúpavík in den isländischen Westfjorden. 🇦🇹🇮🇸 Die Ausstellung untersucht Fragen von Verbindung, Ort und Zusammenarbeit zwischen Kunstwerk und Umgebung – an einem der außergewöhnlichsten Ausstellungsorte Islands.

The Factory 2026 ✨
The Austrian artist, Shatalova, is part of the group exhibition “The Factory, Reaching for the Other” at the former herring factory in Djúpavík in the Icelandic Westfjords. 🇦🇹🇮🇸 The exhibition explores questions of connection, place, and collaboration between artwork and environment — set in one of Iceland’s most extraordinary exhibition spaces. We wish all participating artists a successful exhibition!

🎬 Kafka’s Last Trial beim Jødisk Kulturfestival 2026: Am 4. Juni zeigt das Cinemateket in Kopenhagen den preisgekrönten Dokumentarfilm von Eliran Peled über Franz Kafkas literarisches Vermächtnis und den jahrzehntelangen Rechtsstreit um seine Manuskripte. Der Film wird in Hebräisch, Englisch und Deutsch mit englischen Untertiteln gezeigt. Im Anschluss findet ein Gespräch mit Autor Benjamin Balint statt.

🎬 Kafka’s Last Trial at the Jewish Culture Festival 2026: On 4 June, Cinemateket in Copenhagen will screen Eliran Peled’s award-winning documentary about Franz Kafka’s literary legacy and the decades-long legal battle over his manuscripts. The film will be shown in Hebrew, English and German with English subtitles. Following the screening, there will be a conversation with author Benjamin Balint.

Heute, am 9. Mai, feiern wir den Zusammenhalt, den Frieden und die gemeinsamen Werte, die Millionen von Menschen in ganz Europa verbinden. Gerade in Zeiten, die von ständigem Wandel und immer mehr neuen Herausforderungen geprägt sind, werden Zusammenhalt und Zuversicht immer wichtiger. „Lasst uns mutig sein, lasst uns zuversichtlich sein und lasst uns gemeinsam Europa feiern.“, so 🇦🇹-Außenministerin, Beate Meinl-Reisinger.

💡Vor genau 40 Jahren, wurden im Zuge der ersten Feierlichkeiten des Europatages auch die EU-Flagge und die EU-Hymne zum ersten Mal präsentiert.

Wir freuen uns sehr, die Gruppenausstellung „Wien – København: Den Frie Udstilling 2026“ ein Kollaborationsprojekt der Künstlervereinigung Frie Udstillingsbygning und der Secession ankündigen zu dürfen.

Wie Den Frie wurde auch die Wiener Secession in den 1890er Jahren gegründet, und die beiden Institutionen gehören bis heute zu den wenigen Ausstellungsorten in Europa, die sich noch im Besitz von Kunstschaffenden befinden und auch von diesen betrieben werden. Die Gruppenausstellung „Wien – København“ bringt 45 Mitglieder von Den Frie Udstilling und 125 Kunstschaffende der Wiener Secession zusammen und präsentiert Werke und Editionen von insgesamt 170 Künstlern und Künstlerinnen in einer dynamischen Ausstellung, die das Potenzial kollektiver Formate und des kollegialen Austauschs hervorhebt. 🇦🇹 🤝🏻🇩🇰

We are excited to announce the upcoming art exhibition “Vienna – Copenhagen: Den Frie Udstilling 2026” a collaborative project between the two artist associations Frie Udstillingsbygning and Secession.

Like Den Frie, the Vienna Secession was founded in the 1890s, and the two institutions remain among the few exhibition venues in Europe still housed and run by artists. The group exhibition “Vienna – Copenhagen: Den Frie Udstilling 2026” brings together 45 members of Den Frie Udstilling & 125 colleagues from the Wiener Secession, presenting works and editions by 170 artists in an energetic display that highlights the potential of collective formats and collegial exchange. 🇦🇹 🤝🏻🇩🇰
