Building strong innovation ecosystems is essential to scaling climate solutions. πͺ
This was one of the key messages shared by CTCN during the ICN External Partners Day held last week in Copenhagen, which brought together partners committed to advancing cleantech innovation and sustainable development.
During the session, CTCN Director, Ariesta Ningrum, highlighted experiences from its work supporting national systems of innovation for climate action across developing countries, including initiatives focused on climate technology incubators, SME support, entrepreneurship, circular economy solutions, and enabling environments for technology deployment. The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration between innovation clusters, financial institutions, research organizations, private sector actors, and international partners in accelerating the development and deployment of climate technologies.
We were particularly encouraged by the strong interest in continued collaboration with ICN members and partners, including several organizations that are already part of the CTCN Network and the wider State of Green Denmark community.

Collaboration, coordination, and resilience took center stage on Day 3 of the LAC NDE Forum. π€
The final day of the Forum focused on how integrated planning, peer exchange, and practical cooperation can help countries strengthen climate resilience in an increasingly uncertain world.
Representatives from Belizeβs Ministry of Agriculture, National Hydrological Service, and Energy Unit shared concrete examples of Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus solutions already making an impact on the ground, which highlighted how rural solar microgrids, hydrological forecasting systems, climate-resilient agriculture programmes, and renewable energy deployment are helping strengthen farming communities, improve food systems, and support long-term resilience.
A highly interactive scenario workshop led by UCL created a dynamic space for participants to test different crisis and planning scenarios under climate uncertainty. Through peer exchange and collaborative exercises, NDEs explored how early warning systems, integrated decision-making, coordination, and adaptive planning can strengthen national preparedness and resilience. Oika Logica, UN Environment Programme, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) further contributed to discussions by bringing diverse perspectives on implementation, innovation, and regional collaboration.
This yearβs capacity building programme was designed to encourage more peer exchange and collaboration among NDEs. These interactive discussions help participants explore regional approaches, shared solutions, and opportunities for joint technical assistance projects across LAC.

From pilot projects to scalable systems β Day 2 of the LAC NDE Forum focused on turning climate ambition into long-term action. π
As the Forum discussions continue, the focus shifted toward how countries and institutions across the region are moving from ideas to implementation, with innovation, partnerships, and long-term resilience at the center of the conversation.
Representatives from the Adaptation Fund , Climate Fund, CAF -banco de desarrollo de AmΓ©rica Latina y el Caribe-, PACT Belize, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis β moderated by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre β explored how climate finance is evolving to support more integrated and higher-risk innovations that can later be replicated nationally and regionally. Discussions highlighted that successful climate solutions are not only about introducing new technologies, but about designing systems that combine local ownership, institutional support, strong data, and collaboration across sectors and countries.
Practical examples brought these discussions to life. From drought forecasting and digital monitoring systems to integrated water management approaches, speakers demonstrated how climate technologies are already helping countries strengthen resilience on the ground. The importance of South-South cooperation and regional learning also emerged as a recurring theme, reinforcing how shared experiences can accelerate climate action across the LAC region.
Technical sessions throughout the day further explored how system transformation can happen in practice. Discussions on buildings and infrastructure showcased climate-resilient coastal planning, nature-based solutions, and adaptation strategies already being applied in vulnerable communities, while sessions on business and industry highlighted how sustainability planning and scalable business models can help drive resilient and low-emission development through Technical Assistance.
Another key highlight of the day was the Network Fair β an activity that CTCN only introduced into the Forum programme earlier this year, and which is already proving to be an important space for direct engagement and collaboration. Through a structured matchmaking format with 10 rotating rounds, NDEs had a chance to connect directly with 10 CTCN Network Members to explore technologies, expertise, and potential partnerships aligned with national priorities. The exchanges opened new opportunities for future technical assistance, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the region.
