تستضيف مكتبة الإسكندرية "القمة العالمية الرابعة للكتاب" تعبيراً عن دورها الثقافي الملموس محلياً وعربياً ودولياً، وذلك تحت عنوان "الكتاب والقراءة والتكنولوجيا"، في الفترة ٦–٧ نوفمبر ۲۰١٥م بمدينة الإسكندرية. "القمة العالمية للكتاب" هو اجتماع سنوي عالمي أطلقته مكتبة الكونجرس في عام ۲۰١۲م لمناقشة الكتاب وكل ما يتعلق به من موضوعات. كل عام تُعقد القمة الع

يبدأ التسجيل لحضور القمة العالمية الرابعة للكتاب (لمن قاموا بالتسجيل عبر استمارة التسجيل مسبقًا) في تمام الساعة ال12،30 ظهرًا.

يرجى العلم أن مكتبة الإسكندرية لا تمنح دعوات لحضور القمة العالمية الرابعة للكتاب المقرر انعقادها يومي الجمعة والسبت 6 و7 من نوفمبر الجاري، وذلك لمن قاموا بالتسجيل بالقمة بالفعل (قبل يوم 26 أكتوبر الماضي)، وإنما يكتفي بالحضور وتأكيد التسجيل بالقمة بكود التسجيل يوم الجمعة القادم بمكتب الاستعلامات الرئيسي بمبنى المكتبة الرئيسية، وذلك من الساعة الـ12 ظهرًا حتى الساعة الـ1 بعد الظهر.

We are honoured to have Ms. Jennefer Nicholson, IFLA Secretary General, The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) among our speakers in the 4th International Summit of the Book at Bibliotheca Alexaandrina.
Jennefer Nicholson joined IFLA as its Secretary General in September 2008. As the Chief Executive Officer, she is responsible for the strategic and operational direction and financial management of IFLA. She represents IFLA in a number of international organization forums.
As Secretary General, she has increased IFLA’s international profile, leadership and representation as the trusted global voice of the library and information community worldwide. She is leading IFLA’s strategic initiatives to reposition the library sector as a major participant within the digital information environment; and the significance of library services to achieving development goals and informed and participative communities.
Prior to joining IFLA, Jennefer worked with the Australian Government on media and content policy, and a major national broadband strategy. She also has experience in information brokerage, association and library management. In addition, Jennefer was a director of a number of Australian Government and industry advisory bodies in the cultural, education and training, and association sectors. Jennefer has graduate qualifications in information management and in public policy.

نتشرف بحضور الدكتور حسن الوزاني بالقمة العالمية الرابعة للكتاب، بمكتبة الإسكندرية.
د/حسن الوزاني هو كاتب وباحث، من مواليد سنة ۱۹۷۰. يشغل منصب مدير الكتاب والخزانات بوزارة الثقافة المغربية، وهو أيضًا أستاذ باحث بمدرسة علوم الإعلام بالرباط. حاصل على درجة الماجستير في مجال علوم المكتبات والأرشيف والمكتبات، والدكتوراه في الآداب. ساهم في لقاءات علمية داخل المغرب وخارجه، كما شارك في مهرجانات شعرية دولية، من بينها مهرجانات ميدلين (كولومبيا)، ولوديف (فرنسا)، وروتردام (هولندا)، واسطنبول (تركيا)، ولندن (بريطانيا)، وتروا رفيير (كندا)، وماريوركا (إسبانيا).
We are most glad to have Dr. Hassan Elouzzani (Morocco) among our prominent speakers in the 4th International Summit of the Book at Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Dr. Hassan Al-Wazzani is a writer and researcher, born in 1970. He is the Director of Book and Treasury at the Ministry of Culture, Morocco. He is also a scholar at the Ecole des Sciences de l'Information in Rabat. He has a Master's Degree in Library Science, Archiving and Libraries, and a Ph.D in literature. He participated in several seminars in Morocco and abroad. He also participated in international poetry festivals, including the festivals of Medline (Colombia), Lodève (France), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Istanbul (Turkey), London (Great Britain), Trois-Rivières (Canada), and Majorca (Spain). He published many publications in Arabic and French, and participated in the completion and assortment of several books.

We are glad to have Ms. Melanie Gau (Research Fellow at the Computer Vision Lab (CVL), Technical University Vienna (TUW), Austria) among our speakers.
Melanie Gau’s academic interests are determined by language (philology and work with “text” in the broadest sense), computer vision, as well as science and technology transfer.
For many years, she has worked at the interface between the humanities/arts and computer sciences, especially in the fields of computer linguistics, digital humanities, archaeology, multi-spectral imaging, digital image enhancement, and palaeoslavic studies.
She took part in the international research projects:
- The Sinaitic Glagolitic Sacramentary Fragments 2007–10 and its follow-up,
- The Enigma of the Sinaitic Glagolitic Tradition 2011-14, and
- Textual Database Portal Project Manuskript (V.A. Baranov): Electronic Edition of the Psalterium Demetrii Sinaitici 2009-12.

It's of great honour to have Ambassador Abdelraouf El-Reedy, honorary chairman of the Board, Egyptian Council for Foreign affairs, and chairman of the board of Misr Public Libraries, Egypt, as one of our prominent speakers in our upcoming summit.
Ambassador El-Reedy is:
- Member of Supreme Council of Culture.
- Member of the International Advisory Committee, US Council on Foreign Relations, Washington.
- Member of L'Institut d'Egypte (In existence since 1798), Cairo, Egypt.
- Ambassador of Egypt to the United States, Washington DC. (November 1984-July 1992).
- Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations and leader of the Egyptian delegation to the U.N. conference on disarmament (September 1980 – November 1983) Geneva.
- Ambassador of Egypt to Islamic Republic of Pakistan (June 1979 – July 1980).
- Director of the Department of International Organizations, Foreign Ministry (November 1983-November 1984).
- Founder & Director of the Department of the Policy Planning, Foreign Ministry (June 1977- June 1979).
He participated in the Peace Negotiations between Egypt and Israel beginning with Mena House Conference, December 1977 and ending with the Camp David Peace Accords in September 1978. Ambassador El Reedy is a frequent contributor to Egyptian media on national and international developments.
He recently published his memoirs “Journey of my Life”, Cairo, January 2011, publisher Nahdet Misr.

A prominent speaker at the 4th International Book Summit at Bibliotheca Alexandrina is:
Mr. John Tsebe, President of the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA)
Mr. Tsebe studied at the University of the North (now University of Limpopo) for six years for both under-graduate and post-graduate studies. He also holds a Master of Library Science (MLS) from the School of Information Studies, Syracuse University, New York, USA, and a Master in Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA.
He is one of the founder members of the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA).
Within the broader Library and Information Services (LIS) context in the African continent, he chaired the Executive Committee of the Standing Conference of African National and University Libraries - Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (SCANUL-ECS) for two terms (four years, namely, the periods: 1998–2000 and 2000–2002).
As Chairperson of SCANUL-ECS he represented this African sub-region in the West African region at the SCAULWA (Standing Conference African University Libraries-West Africa) meetings at Achimota, Accra, Ghana, twice.
He served as a member of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Standing Committee for National Libraries Section (2007–2011).
He was the Vice-Chairperson (2007–2010) and later Chairperson of the Conference of Directors of National Libraries (CDNL) from 2011 until his retirement in February 2014. CDNL is a committee of all the Executive Heads of all the National Libraries of the world.
John Tsebe travelled extensively to different parts of the world in order to encourage, develop and sustain global partnerships in the Library and Information Services (LIS) sector.
He has been recently elected as the President of AfLIA (African Library and Information Associations and Institutions). AfLIA is a new continental LIS association established to strengthen libraries in Africa for Africa’s development and sustainable growth.
John Tsebe was married to the late Vaidah Lindeni Ndhlovu Tsebe and they are blessed with a lovely daughter, Marta.

Dr. Buhle Mbambo-Thata, South Africa
Dr. Buhle Mbambo-Thata is Executive Director of Library Services at the University of South Africa (UNISA). Prior to that, she served as University Librarian at the University of Zimbabwe. She served a second term as member of the Governing Board. She has previously served on various committee affiliations including the Library Network of the Association of Commonwealth Libraries, the E-Knowledge Society for Women in Southern Africa, the Advisory Committees of EIFL Found.net, 2004–2007, and the Gender in Africa Information Network 1996–2001. She is a member of the Strategic Advisory Network of the Global Libraries Programme.
She holds the following qualification: DPhil (University of Pretoria); MLS (University of Botswana); Postgraduate Diploma in Library Studies (University of Botswana); BSc in Sociology (University of Zimbabwe).
Her research interests are in women and ICTs, emerging technologies, and technology applications in libraries.

One of our prominent speakers in the "4th International Summit of the Book" is Dr. Patrick Plonski, Executive Director – Books For Africa, USA.
Patrick Plonski has served since 2003 as Executive Director of Books For Africa, the world’s largest shipper of donated text and library books to the African continent. Books For Africa has shipped over 33 million books to 49 African countries since 1988, and has partnered with organizations such as the United Nations, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Peace Corps, OPEC, and Oprah’s Angel Network. Plonski also serves as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Minnesota, where he teaches coursework on world development problems.
Plonski holds a PhD in International Education (2009), and a Master’s Degree in History (1994) from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History from St. John’s University (1985). He has also studied with the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program in Istanbul, Turkey (2015), at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland (1988–89), and at the University of Salzburg, Austria (1983–84) .
Plonski has studied economic impacts on agricultural sectors of European Union enlargement in Poland, Hungary, Belgium, and Italy in 2000 and 2002, with support from a Cargill Fellowship and the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center. He is a frequent conference presenter and commentator in the media on topics pertaining to education and literacy in Africa.
