أسبوعٌ استثنائي يملؤنا جميعًا بالفخر والأمل، ويعكس دور مصر الرائد في مختلف المجالات.

فبينما نحتفل بـ الذكرى الثانية والخمسين لانتصار السادس من أكتوبر، نستعيد معاني الشجاعة والوحدة والإصرار التي صنعت مجد الأمة المصرية.
كما نحتفي بتأهل منتخب مصر إلى كأس العالم، في إنجازٍ أعاد البهجة والفخر لكل بيت مصري ⚽

ويضاف إلى ذلك فوز الدكتور خالد العناني بمنصب المدير العام لمنظمة اليونسكو، في خطوة تُجسّد التقدير الدولي لمكانة مصر الثقافية والحضارية ودبلوماسيتها الفاعلة 🌎

واليوم، جاء تأكيد وقف إطلاق النار بين إسرائيل وحماس، مع احتمال توقيع اتفاق السلام في مصر، في سيناء، أرض السلام، ليؤكد مجددًا الدور المصري التاريخي في ترسيخ الاستقرار ودعم الحوار والسلام في المنطقة 🕊️

إن هذا التلاقي بين الإنجازات الدبلوماسية والرياضية وما تحمله من رسائل إيجابية للعالم، يعزز صورة مصر كدولةٍ آمنةٍ ومستقرةٍ وجاذبة، ويُسهم في دعم قطاع السياحة باعتباره مرآةً حقيقية للاستقرار والتنمية.

أسبوعٌ تاريخي يزرع فينا مزيدًا من الفخر والإيمان بأن مصر ستظل دائمًا بلد السلام والريادة والإلهام.

تشرفت بالعمل مع الدكتور خالد العناني عن قرب خلال فترة توليه وزارة السياحة والآثار، ودي كانت مرحلة مليانة تحديات ومسؤوليات دقيقة — من استئناف حركة السياحة وقت جائحة كورونا، إلى التعامل مع أزمة الحرب الروسية الأوكرانية، واستعادة حركة السياحة من أسواق مهمة زي روسيا وغيرها.

كنت شاهدة على حرصه، واتزانه في اتخاذ القرار، وإيمانه العميق بدور مصر ورسالتها الثقافية والإنسانية.

The journey to discover and empower Egypt’s future hotel leaders has begun with the launch of the ‘Next GM of Egypt’ Competition.

In collaboration with Sommet Education, the Egyptian Hotels Association introduces this first-of-its-kind initiative, which will award one outstanding hospitality professional a 100% Executive Master’s scholarship from Les Roches. This program is designed to prepare Egypt’s next generation of hotel leaders to excel at global standards.

This competition is not just about a scholarship, it is about empowering talent, raising industry standards, and shaping the leaders of tomorrow who will drive the future of Egyptian hospitality.

Pleased to have had the opportunity to be a part of a milestone achievement for the Egyptian Hotel Association as we officially launched the Online Training Booking Platform, a major leap in our digital transformation journey.

This platform gives our member hotels seamless 24/7 access to assign training courses, register their teams, and issue certificates, all through one centralized, automated system.

More than just a digital tool, this initiative makes professional development smarter, faster, and more accessible across Egypt’s hospitality sector. By simplifying processes, we are empowering hotels to focus on what matters most: building skilled teams and elevating guest experiences.

Grateful to our technology partner Itechpro Mahmoud Nouh for helping bring this vision to life. Together, we are shaping the future of hospitality training in Egypt.

As we mark this year’s World Tourism Day, I reflect on the incredible journey our industry has been on and the role Egypt continues to play as a global tourism destination.

Over the past months, I have had the honor of representing Egypt’s hotel sector at key regional and international gatherings, engaging with industry leaders, promoting collaboration, and strengthening Egypt’s position as a hub for hospitality and tourism excellence. These events highlighted not only the resilience of our sector, but also the creativity and innovation driving us forward.

Tourism is more than an industry, it is a bridge between cultures, a driver of economic growth, and a source of countless opportunities for communities. At the Egyptian Hotel Association, we remain committed to supporting our members, empowering our workforce, and ensuring our hotels continue to meet the highest standards of hospitality.

I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who work tirelessly in tourism and hospitality, from hoteliers to travel trade partners, for being the true ambassadors of our country. Together, we will continue shaping the future of tourism in Egypt and beyond.

It was an absolute pleasure to moderate a powerful panel at the Cityscape Egypt, bringing together some of the most influential leaders in Egypt’s tourism and hospitality sector.

Together with industry leaders: Mr. Alaa Akel (Jaz Hotels), Mr. Lars Geweyer (ADD Properties), Mr. Ahmed HOZAIEN (Marriott International), and Mr. Ibrahim El Missiri (Abu Soma Development Company), our discussion tackled how Egypt can successfully accommodate its ambitious target of 30 million tourists by 2030, the expansion of hotel capacity, and the importance of offering both world-class luxury resorts and affordable options for domestic travelers. We also explored how integrated developments are reshaping destinations, creating new attractions through urban development, such as sports tourism, wellness, and lifestyle experiences, while meeting the evolving preferences of visitors and supporting investment models that fuel growth.

A key highlight was the emphasis on balancing real estate development with long-term sustainability, ensuring that Egypt remains not only a competitive destination but also a responsible one.

The feedback of the session has been incredibly positive and I truly valued hearing their perspectives on tourism development and the remarkable opportunities this country continues to create with its dynamic products.

Proud to have taken part in the MediaCity Forum in Cagliari, where I joined a roundtable discussion on sustainable tourism and highlighted Egypt’s vision for a greener future in Tourism.

Our country is advancing bold initiatives, from Sharm El-Sheikh’s transformation during COP27 and the Green Hurghada Project, to the expansion of the Green Star Hotel Certification program that empowers hoteliers to operate responsibly. Alongside this, the Egyptian Hotel Association (EHA) is driving capacity building through specialized training programs that equip hospitality professionals with the knowledge and skills to deliver sustainable operations and world-class service.

Attending was also an excellent opportunity to meet with partners across the Mediterranean tourism industry, a great platform to discuss common challenges, share best practices, and propose joint initiatives. I also underlined the importance of arts and crafts as a driver of cultural preservation and community empowerment, and the pivotal role of the private sector in scaling sustainable solutions.

I was also pleased to propose two initiatives that were warmly welcomed by peer panelists and attendees alike:

• A joint Mediterranean green certification, led by Egypt’s Green Star Initiatives.

• A joint Mediterranean tourism marketing plan for long-haul markets, enabling tourism boards and the private sector to combine multiple destinations into unified programs that enrich travelers’ experiences.

A special thank you to Dr. Alaa Ezz, who introduced me to this important conference, and to Mr. Ahmed Elwakeel, President of ASCAME, for their leadership and support in fostering collaboration across the region.
