Tuesday, 26 August 2025 Juba, South Sudan

A high-level delegation from the SPLM Secretariat, led by the Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi, departed Juba International Airport today to Kampala, Uganda.

The visit aims to participate in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Conference scheduled to begin tomorrow in Kampala.

Speaking to the press before departure, SPLM Secretary for Political Affairs, Cde. Bol Makueng, highlighted the historic and cordial relationship between the SPLM and the NRM. He emphasized that the partnership extends to the leadership and governance of both nations.

Cde. Makueng further explained that during the conference, the SPLM Secretary General will deliver a speech on behalf of the party and convey greetings from H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit to his counterpart, H.E. President Yoweri Museveni, who also serves as Chairman of the NRM.

He added that the delegation will share further updates with the public upon their return.

On behalf of the SPLM Students' League in Egypt and Middle East Chapter, and on my own behalf, I would like to wish you all a Happy Martyrs' Day.

Today, we honor the sacrifices of our heroes who fought tirelessly for our freedom and independence. We remember their bravery, resilience, and dedication to our struggle.

May their legacy continue to inspire us as we strive for a brighter future for our nation. Let us unite and work towards building a prosperous, just, and independent South Sudan.
