Good evening everyone,

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported us in any way during the preparation of the new place. Every single dollar you donated was spent exactly where it should be. Thanks to your help, we were able to move our dogs safely and provide them with a secure environment.

In a few days, I will share detailed photos and videos of the place. I just want to finish everything properly so you can clearly see the difference between before and after, because the amount of work done is truly huge.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to give special thanks to Mohamed and Bashir, who stood by me and supported us with food, covering a large portion of the dogs’ food expenses during the two months of moving. Their support gave me peace of mind during a very difficult period, as the problems I was facing were honestly bigger than me.

There are many other people who helped us, and I can’t list all the names in this post. I will dedicate a separate post to thank everyone properly after I share the full video of the completed place.

Now, we need your support again.
We need to start collecting the monthly food expenses so we don’t struggle in the coming period. I truly hope everyone can contribute, even with a small amount. When many people help, the total amount can be collected very easily.

We are now in the final stage of our project.
These days, we are finishing the construction of the outdoor cat playground and installing all the iron structures in the buildings.

I promise to share photos with you as soon as everything is completed, so you can see the shelter in its full shape.
This place took an enormous effort from us — for the past one and a half months, my team and I have barely slept, literally.

The last and most critical step: Transporting the animals

In 5 days, we must move all the dogs to the new location.

Transporting animals is not cheap, especially when we are talking about 500 animals.

Cats Transport
• The cats will be transported using 2 vehicles only
• Cost per vehicle: 1,200 EGP (≈ $26)

Dogs Transport
• Dogs will be transported using large trucks
• Each truck can safely carry 15 dogs only, to avoid stress, overcrowding, or breathing problems
• This means we need 30 trips for the dogs

Special Cases

Some dogs must be transported alone for safety reasons:
• 5 German Shepherds must be transported individually because they cannot interact with other dogs
• 1 Bullmastiff and 1 Pitbull will be transported in special private vehicles

Total Transport Plan
• Total trips: 32 transports
• Total cost: $832

This is the last amount we need to finally complete the move to a safe, secure place where we — and the animals — can finally breathe and rest.

New Update

I would like to share an honest update with you all.

This project has turned out to be much bigger than I originally expected, and also bigger than what I was told before the construction began. Unfortunately, anyone living in Egypt will understand how challenging it can be to work with construction labor. Commitments are often not respected, details are missed, and the work requires constant physical and mental presence to ensure things are done correctly. This has been the first major obstacle — a true nightmare — but one that will hopefully end very soon, as there is no alternative but to push through it 🤦‍♀️

On a positive note, we have finally completed all the brick construction work, and all the interior walls have been plastered to protect against cold weather and insects. Tomorrow, the metal worker will come to inspect the site, purchase the necessary materials, and begin work — which is a very important step for us.

We were unable to estimate costs earlier, as prices can only be accurately calculated after the brickwork is finished. This helps us determine exactly the required quantities without excess, especially since iron materials are extremely expensive.

Once this stage is completed, we will finally be able to move the dogs.

Moving this month is unfortunately impossible. Through mediators, the new landowner has given us a grace period of 10 days to two weeks at the beginning of January, on the condition that the full rent is paid. I had no choice but to agree, as I cannot risk the lives that are under my responsibility.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has donated so far. I truly hope that the funds we currently have will be enough, although I still cannot be certain. In addition to construction, the dogs continue to have ongoing medical and care expenses.

We are genuinely in need of support, and every contribution — no matter how small — truly makes a difference. I kindly ask those who trust us and our work to support us in any way they can. 🙏

Important Notice

We sincerely apologize for not being able to respond to the daily messages we receive. We are currently going through a very difficult period and, unfortunately, we are not able to accept any new cases at this time.

Our situation is still unstable, and we do not have any available space for at least the next two months, until we are more settled in the new location, which is not yet fully built due to the large number of dogs in our care.

Update 2: The second step is to dismantle all the metal sheds inside the shelter so we can sort through the materials. We need to check which metal pieces are still usable for building the new kennels, and whatever is too old or damaged will be sold as scrap. It won’t bring much money, but we are trying to collect every possible amount — even a small contribution makes a difference for us.

Our current workers are also helping the new welders so we can reduce the cost of hiring additional craftsmen. We are really trying to save every pound we can.

We are still in urgent need of any support from people who trust in our work. Building proper, safe, and solid structures for the dogs is far better than putting together something temporary or poorly made. These animals deserve secure and comfortable spaces, and with everyone’s help, we can make that happen.

UPDATE- I have found a new site, signed a contract, prepared the ground and have now begun building the main wall that will separate the dog area from the main building, where we will house the cats and our primary clinic.
We simply cannot afford to lose any more time!

After this, we will move on to the isolation building, which will house dogs suffering from medical issues—such as mange, TVT, and contagious diseases like parvovirus.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself; we must take things step by step but time is moving very quickly, and we still have the daunting challenge ahead of us: safely relocating 500 animals to the new shelter.

This month has been one of the most difficult we have ever faced since the day we started. We are struggling to provide enough food because most of our resources are being directed toward construction. On top of that, many of our animals require daily medical treatment.

This is why every contribution, no matter how small, truly makes a difference. It helps us continue building a safe place for our animals and ensures we never have to leave any dog or cat suffering due to lack of resources.
