A 29-year-old man is set to be deported from Spain after admitting to brutally killing his ex-partner’s cat, Nala, in a shocking act described as “vicarious violence.”
Authorities said the man attacked the cat on a Torrevieja street, smashing the animal against a wall before repeatedly kicking her to death. Horrific footage of the incident sparked outrage across Spain’s Costa Blanca region.
Prosecutors said the attack was intended to emotionally harm his former partner by targeting her pet. The man reportedly accepted deportation in exchange for avoiding a prison sentence, while the case has renewed attention on animals being used in domestic abuse situations.

Kind Egyptian man falls in love with two stray kittens from the first sight 💐❤️🙏🐈⬛
I've been wanting a cat for a while now, and I keep asking around but can't find anyone. I just want to adopt, not buy a living being. And then, by some miracle, I saw these cats playing in the street today. I thought, "Maybe it's them?" So I kept running and found myself thinking about them. 😅 I went back to the street where they were and they were still there, running towards me. Then, a part of me hesitated, wondering whether to actually take them. Especially since I only wanted one cat, and I didn't want to take one and leave the other alone. Something inside me kept telling me to wait until I found one more time. Then, a woman walking behind me in the street said, "Take them with you!" 😅 I felt like there couldn't be a bigger sign.
So, this is a message about adoption and a reminder to listen to what people say around you; sometimes it's meant for you.
Any suggestions for names? 🐱🐱

An Illinois woman has pleaded guilty in federal court after paying thousands of dollars to fund the production of videos showing monkeys being sexually tortured, burned alive and mutilated; videos distributed through deranged private online chat groups dedicated specifically to this content.
Amanda Leigh Fourez was a member of multiple online groups dedicated to making, distributing and discussing what are legally defined as animal crush videos. She is not the first member of this network to face federal charges. Joseph Garrett Buckland of Pennsylvania pleaded guilty in early April to conspiracy charges related to the same ring.
ICE Director Todd Lyons described those involved as sadistic and said ICE would continue investigating these online groups and use every available power to stop them.
The case was investigated by ICE Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI.
Animal crush videos depicting real acts of violence against animals are a federal crime in the United States.
The monkeys in these videos were real. The suffering was real. The people paying for it were real.

A missing pet tortoise named Manuela was found in the attic 30 years later...still alive and well 😯
How does a turtle exactly crawl into an attic..? Last I checked they weren't climbers.

In August 2025, Philo, the black and white cat owned by Patrick and Evelyn Serre, disappeared at a rest area on a highway in Catalonia, Spain, while the family was returning from a caravanning holiday in the Ypres River Delta. The owners noticed his disappearance several hours later when they stopped to sleep in France, having already traveled a significant portion of the way back to their home in Alonzac, Hérault.
Despite an extensive search in Spain, a return to the location of his last known whereabouts, contact with an animal welfare organization, and a report filed with the Spanish Civil Guard, no leads emerged for several months.
On January 9, 2026, five months after his disappearance, Philo reappeared in Homps, just a few kilometers from Alonzac. A local woman had been feeding him for about a month and then took him to a veterinarian who, using a microchip, confirmed that he belonged to Patrick and Evelyn. According to reports, Velo traveled approximately 250 km, crossing several regions and the borders of Spain and France, before returning to his home. How he managed to cover this distance remains a mystery: no precise route has been identified, and experts have only offered general hypotheses about cats' ability to navigate over long distances.
