🎬 ليلة من سينما الاتحاد الأوروبي في إسكندرية!

افتتاح المهرجان كان في المعهد الفرنسي بمصر في إسكندرية، والقاعة كانت مليانة بأصوات من أوروبا ومصر وغيرهم.

الليلة بدأت بكلمات من سفيرة الاتحاد الأوروبي في مصر أنجلينا أيخهورست، محافظ إسكندرية المهندس أيمن عطية، كريستينا فرايلي، نائبة رئيس البعثة الإسبانية في مصر، ولينا بلين، القنصل العام لفرنسا في إسكندرية.

المخرج وسفير الاتحاد الأوروبي للنوايا الحسنة أحمد مجدي، ومعاه أحمد ياسين (EU Jeel Connect)، شاركوا كلامهم عن إسكندرية وإزاي فضلت مصدر إلهام للسينما عبر الأجيال.

واتعرض أول فيلم في المهرجان Soy Nevenka 🇪🇸.

🎬 A night of EU cinema in Alexandria!

The inauguration of the festival was hosted at the Institut français d’Égypte à Alexandrie and brought together a full theatre of voices from Europe, Egypt and beyond.

The event featured opening remarks by EU Ambassador to Egypt Angelina Eichhorst, Governor of Alexandria Eng. Ayman Attia, Cristina Fraile, Deputy Head of the Mission of Spain to Egypt, and Lina Blin, Consul General of France in Alexandria.

Filmmaker and EU Goodwill Ambassador Ahmed Magdy, alongside Ahmed Yassin (EU Jeel Connect), reflected on Alexandria’s lasting inspiration for cinema across generations.

The night involved the screening of the festival’s first film: Soy Nevenka. 🇪🇸

The festival continues across Alexandria until 9 June. Stay tuned for more films, stories and moments. ✨

‏From leadership talks to student voices 🎓

EU Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst visited the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, where she met with the Dean of School of Management & Technology alongside faculty members.🤝🇪🇺🇪🇬

‏The visit included an inspiring exchange with students on education, innovation, as well as EU-EG cooperation, reinforcing the EU’s commitment to youth and knowledge partnerships.

⬅️الشهر ده، الاتحاد الأوروبي ومصر عقدوا الحوار الـ14 حول الشؤون الاقتصادية والمالية، واللي استضافته وزارة المالية.

الحوار شهد نقاش شامل حول التطورات الاقتصادية الكلية الحالية والتوقعات في المنطقتين.

المناقشات اتركزت على أولويات السياسات المهمة، زي التأثيرات الاقتصادية والمالية للطاقة الخضراء ومبادرات المناخ، وكمان تداعيات الحرب على الاقتصادين المصري والأوروبي وطرق التعامل معاها.🇪🇬🇪🇺

➡️This month the EU and Egypt held the 14th EU–Egypt Dialogue on Economic and Financial Affairs kindly hosted by the Ministry of Finance.

The dialogue featured a comprehensive exchange on current macroeconomic developments and outlook in both regions.

Discussions focused on key policy priorities, including the economic and fiscal impacts of green energy and climate initiatives, as well as the effects of the war on both economies and strategies to mitigate them.🇪🇺🇪🇬

A valuable and insightful dialogue between strategic partners.🤝

الشراكة بين الاتحاد الأوروبي ومصر كل يوم بتتطور.🇪🇺🇪🇬

في مارس 2024 تم رفع مستوى العلاقات للشراكة الاستراتيجية الشاملة، وده أعلى مستوى للعلاقات الثنائية. 🤝

من أسوان، وعلى هامش ، شاركت سعادة سفيرة قبرص بولي يوانو في نقاش عام حول أدوار وتمثيل المرأة في السينما والمجتمع، إلى جانب الفنان صبري فواز، والناقدة علا الشافعي، والفنانة سماح أنور، ومروة علم الدين، القائمة بأعمال مكتب هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة في مصر.

وتناول النقاش كيف تعكس الأفلام الواقع، وتُسهم في تشكيل التصورات، وتدعم النقاشات حول قضايا المرأة.

وأكدت سعادة السفيرة: "تتشابه مجتمعاتنا في العديد من الجوانب، خاصة في كيفية تأثير التقاليد على الطريقة التي يُنظر بها إلى المرأة، والصعوبات المرتبطة بمكافحة الصور النمطية القائمة على النوع الاجتماعي. وتتيح لنا السينما فرصة استكشاف هذه القضايا والتفكير معًا في كيفية مساهمة هذا الفن في رفع الوعي وتحسين أوضاع المرأة عبر مختلف الثقافات."

From Aswan, and on the sidelines of the , Ambassador of Cyprus H.E. Polly Ioannou took part in a public discussion on women’s roles and representation in cinema and society, alongside actor Sabry Fawaz, critic Ola El Shafie, actress Samar Anwar, and Marwa Alam El Din, Officer‑in‑Charge at UN Women Egypt.

The discussion explored how films reflect reality, shape perceptions, and contribute to conversations on women’s issues.

H.E. Polly Ioannou noted: “Our societies share many similarities, especially in how traditions influence the way women are perceived, and the difficulty in combatting gender stereotyping. Cinema allows us to explore these longstanding questions and jointly reflect on how this particular artform can help raise awareness and contribute to improving the status of women across cultures.”
