'SOVEREIGNTY RESIDES IN THE PEOPLE'
Mayor Leni Robredo led the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral Grounds.
In an interview with the local media, Robredo emphasized that the historic 1986 uprising remains a "powerful and unprecedented display of collective courage" that demonstrated the Filipino people's resolve to reclaim democracy from dictatorship.
Robredo also urged the public to continue honoring the spirit of EDSA as a reminder that the mandate of those in power ultimately belongs to the people.

Bakit si Kiko? Ito ang sagot 👇 💗
"Ako si Alodia Catrina Santos, isang Pilipino sa Netherlands. Ito ang aking Kuwentong Kiko kung bakit siya ang binoto kong Vice President as an overseas absentee voter.
A friend with different political leanings once said, "we all vote based on our own life experiences."
Yes, and... I'd like to think we also vote because of shared hopes. Though he does not know me at all, I've had two encounters with him that I've carried with me.
It was 1991. I was 12, first "Leadership Training" ko nun sa highschool kasi nakasama ako sa "Freshman Association". Mga 50 lang kami noon na participants kaya ang astig that he took the time to be there for a bunch of teenagers. It was a profound lesson for me.
It was 2005. I was 27 and a Bureau Manager of the Manila youth reporters of the TV show "Kabataan News Network". One of our reporters, Apple Fale, chose the Juvenile Justice Bill as her feature topic. It was a topic very close to our hearts because we learned about how the bill wanted to provide a different form of justice for young offenders -- offenders who, as young as 8, were led to a life of crime because of poverty.
When passed, the bill would NOT put children with hardened criminals but have other forms of mediation and, if needed, reform in youth homes. The principal author of this bill was Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. That comprehensive and complicated discussion on the lives of children in conflict with the law was something I brought with me as I continue my work in a child-focused organization. We covered Sen Kiko's visit to one of the centers and saw him interact with the children.

It's 2022. I am now 43 and I watch candidate Sen. Kiko talk about food security and the plight and struggles of farmers. And I am reminded of my father who, after suffering from a stroke, retired from corporate life and returned to his love of farming in Tarlac. He read about agricultural solutions and explored ways to bring more profits to fellow farmers. He set up a cooperative and bought equipment so that he and his fellow farmers could share them during harvest time. In his last months, naalala ko, magninilay nilay pa si Papa nang ... "Paano pa kaya makatulong?"
Kaya may matinding hugot sa 'kin kapag naririnig ko si Sen Kiko magsalita tungkol sa agrikultura at food security. Kaya si Kiko lang ang nag-iisa kong VP na katuwang ni Leni Robredo."

Pinapasalamatan namin ang mga nakikilala namin sa aming pag-ikot para hindi lang mangampanya kundi makinig at makiisa sa kapwa Pilipino. Bawat tao, may pinagdaraanan.
