l 🇸🇸 🇪🇹 I Diplomacy in Action:
4 June 2026: A delegation of twenty (20) South Sudanese Diplomats arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend a diplomatic training offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The diplomatic training will include, but not limited to; introduction to the African Union and the important role of the Pan Africanism and it’s achievements / challenges, and the importance of uniting the African people and continent.
The diplomats will also learn about the African global diplomacy, diplomatic practice and its impact, negotiations techniques, and networking in bilateral and multilateral settings.
Plus, International relations, including the legal and institutional frameworks of trans-boundary resources. Role of Energy for Regional integration, and the important roles of the AU & UN in peace building and peace keeping.
H.E. Amb. Boutrus Thok Deng, Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires a.i., on behalf of the Government of the Republic of South Sudan delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony, thanking the Government of Ethiopia for supporting initiatives aimed at building the capacity of South Sudanese diplomats.

: Ethiopia's 7th General Election has appeared to be a significant political watershed not only in the country but also in the conflict-stricken Horn region, offering a critical assessment of democratic consolidation, electoral credibility, and institutional resilience.
Far beyond a routine vote, the election became a contest between competing political narratives—one centered on skepticism, instability, and voter disengagement, and the other on democratic participation, constitutional order, and popular sovereignty.
The unprecedented voter turnout witnessed across the country effectively challenged pre-election predictions and transformed the ballot box into a powerful expression of political legitimacy, civic mandate, and public confidence in the electoral process.
