የኢትዮጵያ ፌዴራላዊ ዲሞክራሲያዊ ሪፐብሊክ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዶ/ር ዐቢይ አህመድ፣ ወ/ሮ ጃለኔ ሀሰንን የኮርፖሬሽኑ የፓርክ አስተዳደርና ኦፕሬሽን ዘርፍ ምክትል ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ እና ወ/ሮ አመለወርቅ ብርሃኔ የኮርፖሬሽኑ ኢንቨስትመንት ፕሮሞሽን እና ማርኬቲንግ ዘርፍ ምክትል ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ አድርገው ሾሙ።

ወ/ሮ ጃለኔ ሀሰን ለአራት አመታት ኮርፖሬሽኑን በተለያዩ የአመራርና የኃላፊነት ቦታዎች አገልግለዋል። በዚህም የኮርፖሬሽኑ ሰው ሀብት አመራር ምምሪያ ኃላፊ፣ የኮርፖሬሽኑ ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ ጽሕፈት ቤት ኃላፊ እንዲሁም ኢንቨስትመንት ፕሮሞሽን እና ማርኬቲንግ ዘርፍ ምክትል ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ በመሆን አገልግለዋል።

ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዶ/ር ዐቢይ አህመድ፣ አቶ ፍጹም ከተማን የኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች ልማት ኮርፖሬሽን ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ አድርገው መሾማቸው ይታወሳል።

አዲሱ ሹመት ኮርፖሬሽኑ አሁን ካለበት የዕድገት ደረጃ ወደ ቀጣዩ ምዕራፍ እንዲያሸጋግር ከፍተኛ አስተዋጽኦ እንደሚኖረው ይጠበቃል።

የሶስቱም ሹመት ከጥቅምት 12 ቀን ጀምሮ የተሰጠ መሆኑን ከጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ጽህፈ ቤት የወጣው ደብዳቤ ያመላክታል፡፡

ኮርፖሬሽኑ ይህንን ለማሳካት የሚያስችለውን የአምስት ዓመት ስትራቴጂክ ዕቅድ ቀርጾ ባለፈው የበጀት ዓመት ወደ ሥራ ማስገባቱ ለአዲሱ አመራር የተሻለ መነሻና ተጨማሪ አቅም እንደሚፈጥር ይታመናል።

አቶ ፍጹም በተለያዩ የአመራር ደረጃዎች ባካበቱት ልምድ፣ ኮርፖሬሽኑን ከመሩ አምስት ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚዎች ጋር በተለያዩ ወቅቶች በመሥራት የተቋሙን የአሥር ዓመታት የለውጥ፣ የዕድገትና የተቋማዊ ሽግግር ሂደት በቅርበት የሚያውቁ አመራር ናቸው።

አዲሱ ሹመት ኮርፖሬሽኑ አሁን ካለበት የዕድገት ደረጃ ወደ ቀጣዩ ምዕራፍ እንዲያሸጋገር ከፍተኛ አስተዋጽኦ እንደሚኖረው ይጠበቃል።

Fitsum Ketema Appointed CEO of Ethiopia’s Industrial Parks Development Corporation

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has appointed Fitsum Ketema as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), entrusting him with leading one of the country’s key institutions responsible for advancing industrialization and investment.

The appointment is effective from October 22, 2026 onwards.

Fitsum brings more than a decade of experience at the Corporation, having served in various leadership and managerial positions. His previous roles include Manager of the Hawassa Special Economic Zone, Head of the Office of the CEO, and Deputy CEO for Park Administration and Operations Division.

Over the years, he has worked alongside five successive CEOs, gaining extensive institutional knowledge and firsthand experience of the Corporation’s transformation, growth, and organizational transition over the past decade.

His appointment is expected to help steer the Corporation into its next phase of development, building on the progress achieved to date and strengthening its contribution to Ethiopia’s industrial growth.

The Corporation has already developed a five-year strategic plan, which it began implementing in the previous fiscal year. The plan is expected to provide a strategic framework for the new leadership to advance the institution’s objectives and sustain its development momentum.

The IPDC is a key national institution mandated to manage 14 special economic zones and industrial parks across Ethiopia. It plays a central role in accelerating the country’s industrial transformation, attracting investment, and supporting sustainable economic growth.

Ethiopian SEZs Well Positioned to Attract Investors from the United Arab Emirates

Ethiopia’s special economic zones (SEZs) and industrial parks are well positioned to meet the needs of investors from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said Alemayehu Seifu, Head of the Office of the CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC).

He made the statement today during a visit by a high-level UAE trade and industrial delegation to the Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone.

Speaking during the visit, Alemayehu noted that the government is prioritizing the manufacturing sector, while trade and logistics activities are gaining momentum in the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone.

He highlighted the wide range of opportunities available to the business community through the corporation, particularly in manufacturing, trade, and logistics.

The visit is expected to give the delegation a better understanding of investment opportunities available in the special economic zones and industrial parks managed by the Industrial Parks Development Corporation, as well as Ethiopia’s overall investment potential.

The delegation members arrived in Ethiopia to participate in the 2026 Ethiopia–United Arab Emirates Business Forum. Most of the delegates are reported to be members of Sharjah’s business community.

የኩባንያዎቹ ባለቤቶች የግንባታ ስራውን ከአንድ አመት ባነሰ ጊዜ በማጠናቀቅ ለኢትዮጵያውያን የስራ እድል ከመፍጠር በተጨማሪ ምርቶቻቻውን ለሀገር ውስጥ ገቢያ እና ለውጪ ገበያ በማቅብ ሀገሪቱ በዘርፍ የሚመረቱ ምርቶችን ከውጪ ሀገር ለማስገባት የምታወጣውን የውጪ ምንዛሬ ከማስቀረት በተጨማሪ የውጪ ምንዛሬ ገቢ ማስገባት እንደሚችሉ ጠቁመዋል፡፡

Three Chinese Companies Begin Factory Construction at Kilinto Special Economic Zone

Three Chinese companies have commenced factory construction at the Kilinto Special Economic Zone, with the companies expected to invest approximately USD 10 million in the project.

Fitsum Ketema, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Park Administration and Operations at the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), officially launched the construction work for the three companies.

The project will cover 3.7 hectares of land and comprise nine factory sheds of varying sizes and four office buildings. According to Fitsum Ketema, the companies operate in the cosmetics and medical packaging industries.

Recalling the repeated efforts made by the corporation’s senior leadership to attract the companies to Ethiopia, Fitsum expressed satisfaction that these efforts had yielded results and that construction had commenced.

He also assured the investors that the corporation would provide the necessary support to help them complete construction within a short period and begin operations as soon as possible.

The owners of the companies, meanwhile, indicated that they plan to complete the construction work in less than one year. Once operational, the factories are expected to create employment opportunities for Ethiopians and contribute to the national economy by supplying products to both domestic and international markets.

In particular, the companies are expected to help reduce foreign currency expenditure by substituting imported products with locally manufactured alternatives. They are also anticipated to generate foreign currency earnings through exports.

The three companies—DF Cosmetics, Calcali, and Roadmap—are expected to invest a combined total of approximately USD 10 million in the project.

በእንስሳት መኖ ምርት፣ ባዮቴክኖሎጂና በግብርና ቴክኖሎጂ ዘርፎች በኢትዮጵያ መዋዕለ ንዋያቸውን ለማፍሰስ ፍላጎት ያላቸው ከ20 በላይ የቻይና ባለሀብቶች ከኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች ልማት ኮርፖሬሽን አመራሮች ጋር ተወያዩ።

የባለሀብቶቹን ልዑክ የኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች ልማት ኮርፖሬሽን የኢንቨስትመንት ፕሮሞሽንና ማርኬቲንግ ዘርፍ ተወካይ አቶ ሚኪያስ ታደሰ ተቀብለው ያወያዩ ሲሆን፣ ኮርፖሬሽኑ ለባለሀብቶች ስለሚሰጣቸው አገልግሎቶች፣ ስለሚያስተዳድራቸው ልዩ ኢኮኖሚያዊ ዞኖችና የኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች እንዲሁም ስለሚገኙ የኢንቨስትመንት ዕድሎች ገለጻ አድርገዋል።

ባለሀብቶቹ በኮርፖሬሽኑ በሚተዳደሩ የኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮችና ልዩ ኢኮኖሚያዊ ዞኖች ውስጥ ካፒታላቸውንና የቴክኖሎጂ ዕውቀታቸውን በማዋል ለመሥራት ከወሰኑ፣ መንግሥት ከታክስ ጋር በተያያዙ ጉዳዮች የተለያዩ የማበረታቻ ሥርዓቶችን መዘርጋቱን ተወካዩ ገልጸዋል።

የኮርፖሬሽኑ የኮርፖሬት ኮሙኒኬሽን መምሪያ ኃላፊ አቶ ጳውሎስ በለጠ በበኩላቸው፣ ኮርፖሬሽኑ ለባለሀብቶች የተቀናጀ መሠረተ ልማትና የተለያዩ ድጋፎችን በማቅረብ በአጭር ጊዜ ወደ ምርት ሥራ እንዲገቡ ለማስቻል የተቋቋመ የመንግሥት የልማት ተቋም መሆኑን አስረድተዋል።

ባለሀብቶቹ ወደ ኢትዮጵያ የመጡበት ወቅት መንግሥት የሀገሪቱን ኢኮኖሚ መዋቅር ለመለወጥ የተለያዩ የፖሊሲ ማሻሻያዎችን እያከናወነ ካለበት ወቅት ጋር የሚገጣጠም መሆኑንም አቶ ጳውሎስ ጠቁመዋል። ባለሀብቶቹ ለመሰማራት ያሰቡባቸው ዘርፎች በመንግሥት ትኩረት ከተሰጣቸው የኢኮኖሚ ክፍሎች መካከል የሚገኙ በመሆናቸው፣ ለኢንቨስትመንታቸው ምቹ ሁኔታ እንደሚፈጥሩ ገልጸዋል።

ኢትዮጵያ በእንስሳት ሀብት ብዛት ከዓለም ቀዳሚ ከሆኑ አምስት ሀገራት አንዷ መሆኗን ያስታወሱት አቶ ጳውሎስ፣ ሀገሪቱ ከዚህ ሀብት የምታገኘውን ጥቅም ለማሳደግ እየሠራች መሆኑን አንስተዋል።

በእንስሳት መኖ ምርትና በተያያዙ ቴክኖሎጂዎች ላይ የሚደረግ ኢንቨስትመንት የእንስሳት ሀብቱን ምርታማነት ከማሳደግ ባለፈ፣ ሀገሪቱ ከዘርፉ የምታገኘውን ኢኮኖሚያዊ ጥቅም ለማሳደግ እንደሚያግዝ አመላክተዋል። ይህም መንግስት የእስሳት ሀብቱ ዘርፍ ምርታማነት እዲያደግ የሚደርገውን ጥረት በእጅጉ ያግዛል ብለዋል፡፡

Chinese Investors Interested in Animal Feed Production, Biotechnology Hold Talks with IPDC Officials

More than 20 Chinese investors interested in investing in Ethiopia in the fields of animal feed production, biotechnology, and agricultural technology held discussions with officials of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC).

The delegation led by Shen Shuibao, President of the Guangxi Feed Industry Association, comprised investors from various Chinese provinces, representatives of business consulting firms, companies engaged in biotechnology, and officials from institutions working in agricultural technology development.

The delegation indicated that its first pre investment visits to Africa started in Ethiopia.

Mikiyas Tadesse, a representative of IPDC’s Investment Promotion and Marketing Division, received the delegation and briefed its members on the services provided by the corporation, the special economic zones and industrial parks under its administration, and the available investment opportunities.

He also explained that the Ethiopian government has established various tax-related progressive incentive schemes for investors who choose to invest their capital and technological expertise in industrial parks and special economic zones managed by the corporation.

Meanwhile, Pawlos Belete, Head of IPDC’s Corporate Communications Department, explained that the corporation was established as a government development institution to provide investors with integrated infrastructure and various support
services, enabling them to commence production within a shorter period of time by reducing unnecessary bureaucratic red tape.

Pawlos noted that the delegation’s visit to Ethiopia came at a time when the government was undertaking various policy reforms aimed at transforming the country’s economic structure.

He added that the sectors in which the investors intend to engage are among the priority areas identified by the government, a factor he said would help create a favorable environment for their investments.

Recalling that Ethiopia is among the world’s top five countries in terms of livestock population, Pawlos emphasized that the country is working to maximize the economic benefits derived from its livestock resources.

He further noted that investment in animal feed production and related technologies would not only improve livestock productivity but also help increase the economic benefits Ethiopia derives from the sector. He added that such investments would significantly support the government’s efforts to enhance productivity in the livestock sector.

በኒንቦ ማዘጋጃ ቤት ሕዝብ ኮንግረስ ቋሚ ኮሚቴ ምክትል ዳይሬክተር በአቶ ሁዋ ዌይ የተመራው ልዑካን ቡድን በሁለቱ ወገኖች መካከል የጋራ መግባባትን ለማጎልበት፣ ስትራቴጂካዊ አጋርነቶችን ለመፍጠርና በኢንቨስትመንት እና በኢንዱስትሪ ትብብር ዘርፎች ያሉ ዕድሎችን ለመለየት ያለመ ነው።

በጉብኝቱ ወቅት የጅማ ልዩ ኢኮኖሚያዊ ዞን ሥራ አስኪያጅ ተስፉዪ ሊኪሳ የዞኑን የኢንዱስትሪ ልማት አቅምና በአግሮ ፕሮሰሲንግ፣ በኤሌክትሪክ ተሽከርካሪዎች መገጣጠም እና በሕክምና መሣሪያዎች ማምረት ዘርፎች ያሉ የትብብር ዕድሎችን አብራርተዋል። እንዲሁም በኢንዱስትሪ ልማትና በኢኮኖሚ እድገት ልምዷ ከምትታወቀው ከኒንቦ ከተማ ጋር ያለውን ትስስር ማጠናከር የጋራ ጥቅም የሚያስገኙ አጋርነቶችን ለመመሥረትና ኢንቨስትመንትን ለማበረታታት ወሳኝ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል።

ጉብኝቱ በጅማ ልዩ ኢኮኖሚያዊ ዞን የቻይና ኢንቨስትመንትን ለማበረታታትና የትብብር መስኮችን ለመለየት ዕድል ፈጥሯል። ይህ ተሳትፎ በተለይም በኢንዱስትሪ ልማት፣ በማምረቻ ዘርፍና በቴክኖሎጂ ሽግግር ላይ በማተኮር በኢትዮጵያና በቻይና መካከል ያለውን ሰፊ የኢኮኖሚ ትብብር ለማጠናከር አስተዋጽኦ እንደሚያደርግ ይጠበቃል።

ከጅማ ልዩ ኢኮኖሚያዊ ዞን ጉብኝት በተጨማሪ፣ የልዑካን ቡድኑ አባላት ጅማ ዩኒቨርሲቲንም ጎብኝተዋል። ይህም ከአካባቢው ተቋማት ጋር ያለውን ግንኙነት ለማስፋትና በተለያዩ ዘርፎች የትብብር ዕድሎችን ለመመርመር ዕድል ፈጥሯል።

ይህ ጉብኝት ከኒንቦ ማዘጋጃ ቤት ተወካዮች ወደ ጅማ የተደረገው ሁለተኛው ይፋዊ ጉብኝት ሲሆን፣ በሁለቱ ወገኖች መካከል እየተጠናከረ የመጣውን ግንኙነትና በኢኮኖሚ፣ በኢንዱስትሪና በተቋማዊ ትብብር ያላቸውን የጋራ ፍላጎት ያመለክታል።

Chinese Delegation from Ningbo Visits Jimma Special Economic Zone to Explore Investment Opportunities

A delegation from the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal People's Congress of Zhejiang Province, China, has visited Jimma Special Economic Zone to explore investment opportunities and strengthen industrial cooperation between Ethiopia and China.

The delegation, led by Mr. Hua Wei, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Ningbo Municipal People's Congress, comprised six representatives with expertise in legal affairs, budget administration, local governance, foreign affairs, and healthcare.

The visit aimed to foster mutual understanding, explore strategic partnerships, and identify potential areas of investment and industrial cooperation between Ningbo and Jimma.

During the visit, the manager of Jimma Special Economic Zone, Tesfaye Likisa, highlighted the zone's industrial development potential and opportunities for collaboration in agro-processing, electric vehicle assembly, and medical equipment manufacturing.

The manager also emphasized the importance of strengthening engagement with Ningbo, a city known for its industrial development and economic achievements, to promote investment and establish mutually beneficial partnerships.

The visit provided an opportunity to discuss potential areas of cooperation and explore ways to encourage Chinese investment in Jimma Special Economic Zone.

The engagement is expected to contribute to broader economic collaboration between Ethiopia and China, particularly in industrial development, manufacturing, and technology-related sectors.

In addition to visiting Jimma Special Economic Zone, members of the delegation also visited Jimma University, further expanding their engagement with local institutions and exploring opportunities for cooperation.

The visit marks the second official visit by representatives of Ningbo Municipality to Jimma, reflecting continued engagement between the two sides and their shared interest in strengthening economic, industrial, and institutional ties.

Through such engagements, the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) continues to promote Ethiopia's industrial investment opportunities and encourage international partnerships that support industrialization, technology transfer, and sustainable economic development.

የሄናን የግል ኢንተርፕራይዞች ማኅበር ዋና ጸሐፊ አቶ ዋንግ ሎንግ በጉብኝቱ ወቅት እንደገለጹት፣ ማኅበሩ በሄናን ግዛት የሚገኙ የግል ድርጅቶችን የሚወክል ሲሆን፣ አባል ድርጅቶቹም በግንባታ፣ በአዲስ ኃይልና ሊቲየም ባትሪዎች፣ በአዳዲስ ቁሳቁሶች እና በሕንፃ ግንባታ ቁሳቁሶች ምርት ዘርፎች ይንቀሳቀሳሉ።

በጉብኝቱ ወቅት የኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች ልማት ኮርፖሬሽን (IPDC) አመራሮች በኢትዮጵያ የኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች የተሟላ መሠረተ ልማትና ለባለሀብቶች የሚቀርቡ አገልግሎቶችን ለልዑኩ አብራርተዋል። በገለጻውም የአንድ ማዕከል አገልግሎት፣ የፋብሪካ ሼድ ኪራይ፣ የለማ የኢንዱስትሪ መሬት፣ የመሠረተ ልማት አገልግሎቶች፣ የኢንቨስትመንት ማበረታቻዎች፣ የኢንቨስትመንት ጥበቃ ስምምነቶች እና ከሠራተኛ ግንኙነት ጋር የተያያዙ ጉዳዮች ተካተዋል።

ልዑኩ የቦሌ ለሚ ልዩ ኢኮኖሚ ዞንን በመጎብኘት የመሠረተ ልማት አቅሙን፣ ያሉትን ተቋማትና ለወደፊት የኢንቨስትመንትና የኢንዱስትሪ ሥራዎች ያለውን ምቹ ሁኔታ በቦታው ተመልክቷል።

ጉብኝቱ በኢትዮጵያና በቻይና መካከል እየጠናከረ ከመጣው የኢኮኖሚና የንግድ ግንኙነት እንዲሁም በቤልት ኤንድ ሮድ ተነሳሽነት ሥር ከሚካሄደው ሰፊ የቻይናና የአፍሪካ ትብብር ጋር ተያይዞ የተካሄደ ነው።

ልዑኩ በመሠረተ ልማት ግንባታ፣ በአዲስ ኃይል፣ በማምረቻ ኢንዱስትሪና በሌሎች ዘርፎች ተግባራዊ የትብብር መስኮችን ለመለየት ፍላጎት እንዳለው ገልጿል። ይህም በሁለቱ አገራት መካከል የኢኮኖሚ እድገትን ለማጎልበትና ዘላቂ የንግድ አጋርነትን ለመመስረት እንደሚያግዝ ይጠበቃል።

ጉብኝቱ ለቻይናውያኑ ድርጅቶች የኢትዮጵያን የኢንቨስትመንት ምቹ ሁኔታና የኢንዱስትሪ ልማት ቅድሚያ የተሰጣቸውን ዘርፎች በቀጥታ እንዲገነዘቡ ዕድል የሚፈጥር ሲሆን፣ ከኢትዮጵያ የመንግሥትና የግል ዘርፍ ተዋናዮች ጋር ሊኖሩ የሚችሉ የአጋርነት ዕድሎችንም ለመፈለግ ያግዛል።

ልዑኩ በሚቀጥሉት ቀናት ከሚመለከታቸው የኢትዮጵያ መንግሥታዊ ተቋማት ጋር በመገናኘት የኢንቨስትመንት ፖሊሲዎችን፣ የቁጥጥር ማዕቀፎችንና ተጨማሪ የኢኮኖሚ ትብብር ዕድሎችን ለመወያየት ቀጠሮ ይዟል።

Chinese Business Delegation Visits Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone to Explore Investment Opportunities

A delegation of private enterprises from China's Henan Province has visited Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone in Ethiopia to explore investment opportunities and strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Ethiopia and China.

The delegation comprises representatives of the Henan Private Enterprises Association and Xuanfei International Business Consulting (Henan) Co., Ltd. The visit aims to promote business engagement, foster investment partnerships, and identify opportunities for collaboration across key economic sectors.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Wang Long, Secretary-General of the Henan Private Enterprises Association, highlighted the association's broad private-sector representation in Henan Province, with member enterprises operating in industries including construction, new energy and lithium batteries, new materials, and building materials.

Leadership of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) briefed the delegation on the integrated infrastructure and investment services available in Ethiopia's industrial parks. The briefing covered one-stop services, factory shed rentals, developed industrial land, utilities, investment incentives, investment protection agreements, and labor-related matters.

During the visit, the delegation toured Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone to assess its infrastructure, facilities, and overall business environment for potential investment and industrial operations.

The visit comes amid growing economic and trade ties between Ethiopia and China, as well as expanding China-Africa cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The delegation expressed interest in exploring practical areas of cooperation in infrastructure development, new energy, manufacturing, and other sectors, with the aim of supporting bilateral economic growth and establishing long-term business partnerships.

The visit provides an opportunity for the Chinese enterprises to gain first-hand insight into Ethiopia's investment climate and industrial development priorities while exploring potential partnerships with Ethiopian public and private-sector stakeholders.

The delegation is also scheduled to meet with relevant Ethiopian government institutions in the coming days to discuss investment policies, regulatory frameworks, and further opportunities for economic cooperation.
