ዶክተሮች በሰውነት ውስጥ የተደበቁ የካንሰር ህዋሳትን እንዴት እንደሚለዩ አስበው ያውቃሉ?
FDG-PET imaging በዘመናዊ ህክምና ውስጥ ካሉ እጅግ በጣም አስደናቂ መሳሪያዎች አንዱ ነው።
1. ሐሰተኛው ግሉኮስ (The Fake Glucose)
FDG ማለት እንደ ግሉኮስ አይነት ባህሪ ያለው ነገር ግን በውስጡ የራዲዮአክቲቭ አይዞቶፕ የሆነውን ፍሎሪን-18 (Fluorine-18) የያዘ ንጥረ ነገር ነው። ለሰውነትዎ ህዋሳት ልክ እንደ ስኳር ወይም የኢነርጂ ምንጭ ይመስላሉ።
2. ወጥመዱ (The "Trap") 🔒
ህዋሳትዎ እንደ ነዳጅ ስለሚቆጥሩት ወደ ውስጥ ይስቡታል። ነገር ግን የዚህ ዘዴ ምስጢር ይኸው ነው፡ ወደ ውስጥ ከገባ በኋላ ህዋሱ ሂደቱን ማጠናቀቅ ስለማይችል፣ ንጥረ ነገሩ በውስጡ ይጠመዳል። ይህ ደግሞ በሰውነት ውስጥ በጣም ንቁ በሆኑ ክፍሎች ላይ እንዲከማች ያደርገዋል።
3. የፍተሻው ሂደት (Lighting Up the Scan)
የካንሰር ህዋሳት እጅግ የተረቡ ናቸው፤ ከመደበኛ ህዋሳት በበለጠ ፍጥነት ግሉኮሱን ይበሉታል። FDG በእነዚህ ንቁ ህዋሳት ውስጥ ሲከማች፣ ፍሎሪን-18 ምልክቶችን ያመነጫል፤ እነዚህንም ምልክቶች የ PET ስካነር መሳሪያው ይለየዋል። በመጨረሻም ኮምፒውተሩ እነዚህ ከፍተኛ የኃይል ፍጆታ ያላቸው ህዋሳት ያሉበትን ቦታ በትክክል የሚያሳይ ዝርዝር ምስል ይስላል።

FDG-PET imaging is one of the most powerful tools in modern medicine!
1. The "Fake" Glucose
FDG is a glucose analogue. To your cells, it looks almost exactly like the sugar (glucose) your body uses for energy, but with one special addition: the radioactive isotope Fluorine-18
2. The "Trap"🔒
Because your cells treat it like normal fuel, they pull it inside. But here is the trick: once inside, the cell can’t finish processing it! It gets "trapped," causing it to build up in areas that are super active.
3. Lighting Up the Scan
Cancer cells are "hungry" they consume way more glucose than healthy tissue. When FDG accumulates in these active cells, the Fluorine-18 emits signals that our PET scanners detect. The computer then creates a detailed map, highlighting exactly where those high-energy cells are located.
Why does this matter?
This incredible technology allows doctors to detect, stage, and monitor treatments for various diseases with incredible precision.

ያውቁ ኖሯል?
የMRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) ምርመራ ቀደም ሲል NMRI (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging) ተብሎ ይጠራ ነበር ።
ይህ ስያሜ የመጣው ምርመራው በአቶሞች ውስጥ በሚገኘው "ኒውክሊየስ" መግነጢሳዊ ባህሪ ላይ የተመሰረተ ስለሆነ ነው። ነገር ግን በ1970ዎቹ "ኒውክሊየር" የሚለው ቃል ታካሚዎችን ስጋት ውስጥ እንደሚጥል ሲታወቅ፣ የህክምና ባለሙያዎች ይህንን ግራ መጋባት ለማስወገድ ስሙን ወደ MRI ቀየሩት።
ዛሬ የምናውቀው MRI ምርመራ፣ ምንም አይነት ጨረር ሳይጠቀም በኃይለኛ መግነጢሳዊ መስክ እና በራዲዮ ሞገዶች ብቻ የሚሰራ፣ ለጤናችን እጅግ አስተማማኝ እና ዘመናዊ የህክምና ቴክኖሎጂ ነው።

When first developed, it was called NMRI (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging). The "Nuclear" referred to the tiny magnetic spins of atoms (nuclei) inside your body. However, in the 1970s, doctors realized the term caused unnecessary anxiety, as people often confused it with harmful radiation.

የኮሚሽኑ ኮሚሽነር የተከበሩ አቶ ሳንዶካን ደበበ ከዩኒቨርሲቲው ከፍተኛ አመራሮች ጋር በኮሚሽኑ ዋና መስሪያ ቤት ባደረጉት ውይይት፤ የኒውክሊየር ሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂን ለሰላማዊ ዓላማ በማዋል በኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ የኒውክሊየር ፖሊሲ እና በዓለም አቀፍ የአቶሚክ ኢነርጂ ኤጀንሲ (IAEA) መመዘኛዎች መሠረት አብሮ ለመስራት መግባባት ላይ ደርሰዋል።
ይህ የሁለቱ ተቋማት ውይይት በዋናነት በሰው ኃይል ልማትና አቅም ግንባታ፣ በሥርዓተ ትምህርት ንድፍና አካዳሚክ ዝግጅቶች እንዲሁም በምርምር፣ በልማት እና በተግባራዊ ሥልጠናዎች ላይ በትኩረት ለመሥራት ያለመ ነው። ከዚህም በተጨማሪ በውይይቱ ወቅት በዘርፉ ብቁ ባለሙያዎችን ለማፍራት ለተማሪዎች እና ለመምህራን የውጭ ሀገር የትምህርት ዕድሎችን እና ሥልጠናዎችን (Scholarship እና Fellowship) በማመቻቸት ረገድ በጋራ ለመሥራት የሚያስችል አቅጣጫ ተቀምጧል።
የሁለቱም ተቋማት አመራሮች ይህ ትብብር ለሀገሪቱ ሁለንተናዊ ልማትና ዕድገት ያለውን ፋይዳ በመገንዘብ፣ በጋራ ለመሥራት ያስቀመጡትን የትብብር ዕቅድ ውጤታማ ለማድረግ ያላቸውን ሙሉ ቁርጠኝነት አረጋግጠዋል።
The Ethiopian Nuclear Energy Commission and Bahir Dar University have held discussions to establish a collaborative framework to work together in the field of nuclear science.
The Commissioner of the Commission, Honorable Ato Sandokan Debebe, held talks with the senior leadership of the university at the Commission’s headquarters. During the meeting, they reached an agreement to collaborate on the peaceful application of nuclear science and technology, in accordance with Ethiopia's national nuclear policy and the standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
This dialogue between the two institutions primarily focuses on cooperation in human resource development and capacity building, curriculum design and academic preparations, as well as research, development, and practical training. Furthermore, the meeting set a direction for joint efforts in facilitating international educational opportunities and training (scholarships and fellowships) for students and faculty, with the goal of producing qualified professionals in the sector.
Recognizing the significance of this collaboration for the country's comprehensive development and growth, the leaders of both institutions affirmed their full commitment to effectively implement the joint cooperation plan they have established.

የኢትዮጵያ የኒውክሊየር ኃይል ኮሚሽን (ENEC) ከአዳማ ሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ዩኒቨርሲቲ (ASTU) ጋር ግንቦት 21 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. በአዲስ አበባ በሚገኘው የኮሚሽኑ ዋና መስሪያ ቤት የመግባቢያ ሰነድ ተፈራርመዋል።
ይህ ስምምነት በኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ የኒውክሊየር ፖሊሲ እና በዓለም አቀፍ የአቶሚክ ኢነርጂ ኤጀንሲ (IAEA) መስፈርቶች መሰረት በኒውክሊየር ሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ሰላማዊ አጠቃቀም ዘርፍ የተቀናጀና ዘላቂ የትብብር ማዕቀፍ ለመፍጠር ያለመ ነው።
ትብብሩ በዋናነት በሰው ኃይል ልማት፣ በስርዓተ ትምህርት ንድፍና አካዳሚክ ልማት፣ በምርምርና ልማት፣ በተግባራዊ ስልጠና፣ በአቅም ግንባታ እንዲሁም በሳይንሳዊ ዝግጅቶች ላይ የሚያተኩር ሲሆን፤ የሁለቱ ተቋማት አመራሮች ስምምነቱ ለሀገራዊ ልማትና ዕድገት ፋይዳው የላቀ መሆኑን በመግለጽ ውጤታማ ስራዎችን ለመስራት ቁርጠኛ መሆናቸውን አረጋግጠዋል።
