🌏 On June 6, 2024, in the Migira kebele of the Chinaksen district, a case of cattle dystocia was successfully addressed via C-section. The dystocia resulted from edematous fetal death and aberrant fetal position (head twisted backward, shoulder flexion, neck laterally deviated). The dystocia could not be corrected manually, so C-sections were performed to save the mother's life. Antibiotics were subsequently provided to prevent further bacterial problems.

Chinaksen, May 31, 2024: The village-level training program for farmers and pastorals has been effectively finished. For an extended period, attempts to advance agriculture and enhance the standard of living for our farmers and pastorals in order to support the nation's economic expansion have not produced noticeable outcomes. Recognizing the vital role agriculture plays in the nation's economy, the transitional administration has given agricultural development initiatives top priority during the last five years. The transitional administration has developed agricultural transition policies and measures to bring about major improvements in this sector.

This year, the Oromia Regional State Government developed a comprehensive plan to improve agricultural development operations in the short term. The idea is to protect farmers and ranchers' livelihoods while also promoting regional prosperity. As part of this strategy, an awareness-raising campaign was planned for all of the state's farmers and ranchers. To achieve this goal, awareness training sessions were held in all communities of Chinaksen District, East Hararge Zone, Oromia Region. These training courses were designed to provide motivated professionals spearheading agricultural innovations with the essential information and abilities. The five-day training session ran from May 27 to May 31, 2024. The awareness training was delivered with various topics discussed during these sessions. The training program ended on May 31, 2024, with a special closing speech by the President of the Oromia Regional State🌻🌺🥀

On May 18, 2024, in the Chinaksen district's Dagdher kebele, a case of camel dystocia was successfully resolved through manual correction. The camel, which was pregnant, exhibited signs of difficulty such as straining and fluid discharge from the va**na without progressing to delivery. An animal health technician reported the case to the woreda veterinary expert, prompting an immediate response. Upon examination, it was determined that the dystocia was due to abnormal fetal position, posture, and presentation. Specifically, the foal was positioned posteriorly, with its hind legs extended towards the v***a but bent inside the uterus. The neck was laterally deviated, and the fetus had died.

To correct the dystocia, the veterinarian manually adjusted the fetal position. This involved inserting a hand between the fetal hindlimbs up to the inguinal region, grasping a thigh, and rotating the fetus through a half circle. This rotation and traction on the crossed limbs allowed the technician to push the fetus back into the uterus to identify and correct the defects in presentation, position, and posture. Flexed joints were extended using both hands and ropes, and force was applied to the presenting parts to aid in the fetus's expulsion. After the dead fetus was expelled, antibiotics were administered to the dam to prevent secondary bacterial complications.
