We are thrilled to welcome William Toganivalu as Blue Prosperity Fiji’s new Managing Director. He will lead our team as we work with government, resource owners, and communities toward Fiji's marine protection goals, so that decisions about Fiji's ocean rest on good information and local knowledge.
He comes to BPF from a career in diplomacy and regional security, most recently as Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to the Pacific, where he represented Fiji’s national interests and strategic priorities, working closely with political leaders, government officials, and Pacific organisations on sustainable development, climate action, regional security, and economic cooperation.
Prior to his diplomatic appointment, Toganivalu served as Regional Security and Risk Management Advisor for GIZ in the Pacific, conducting country risk assessments and risk mitigation strategies for teams across the Pacific and globally.
Earlier in his career, he served for 13 years in the British Army, with operational experience in Northern Ireland, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Outside of his professional roles, Toganivalu is active in his community, supporting youth development through sports, and enjoys the arts and farming.
