"In this materialistic, fast‑paced culture, many children have broken circles, and the fault line usually starts with damaged relationships. Having no bonds to significant adults, they chase counterfeit belongings through gangs, cults, and promiscuous relationships. Some are so alienated that they have abandoned the pursuit of human attachment. Guarded, lonely, and distrustful, they live in despair or strike out in rage. Families, schools, and youth organizations are being challenged to form new ‘tribes’ for all of our children so there will be no ‘psychological orphans." - Dr Martin Brokenleg
Kauwai Youth Restoration Home
Salvation Army ministry to the young people of our streets in Suva, settlements & towns and their progress in life.
This ministry begun 12 years ago and was a partnership project between the Salvation Army and the Youth For Christ ministry now Ola Fou Fiji ministering to our young people on the streets and our communities. We continue to journey with our youth by providing a safe environment conducive to their development with the objective of reconnecting them back to learning & reconnecting them (if possible) back to their families.
✨ Building Strong Families in 2026 ✨
Happy New Year families!
This year, let’s make family more than just a word—it’s a commitment to love, care, and inclusion. Many young people in our communities feel disconnected, and countless orphans long for belonging. What if we opened our hearts and homes to them?
Family is not only about blood—it’s about love, acceptance, and creating a safe space where everyone feels valued. Let’s be intentional in reaching out to those on the fringes and inviting them into our lives.
“God sets the lonely in families.” – Psalm 68:6
Together, we can reflect God’s heart by making sure no one walks alone.
💡 This year, choose to be the reason someone feels loved and included.

The Salvation Army's Annual Street Appeal is a key fundraising event where volunteers and staff collect donations from the public in various locations, often on busy streets or in public spaces. This event supports the church's efforts to provide essential services, including food, shelter, addiction services, family support, and disaster relief to those in need.
As you walk by today, remember that every coin you give helps bring hope to someone in need. A small act of kindness can provide warmth, food, and support to those struggling in our communities. If you see a collector, please donate—your generosity can change lives.
