Awww, Montmartre, Basilica du Sacre-Couer, a beautiful picturesque bohemian part of Paris, away from the busy promenades and river cruises, tucked away on the hill, an area loved and lived in by artists, musicians, writers of the past and the present day!

Lots of tourists are here too admittedly, but still has an air of a secluded village at places.

The ‘Amelie’ enthusiasts will know that the cafe where Amelie worked in the film and her fictional apartment are both located here, and a few other crucial locations from this film - too.

A swan stretching his wings at St Margaret’s Loch in Hollyrood Park, a nice vast open space to wander around or cycle in Edinburgh.

I find swans mesmerising for whatever reason, always stop and watch these majestic birds so gracefully going about their daily routines, preening their feathers, asking for food, flapping their wings.

A magnificent red deer stag sketched in pencil.

You can see them up close in deer parks, in the wild red deer can be occasionally seen on the outskirts of villages and towns in Perthshire, Scotland, usually from afar.

They are more frequent in unpopulated areas understandably, and can also be spotted venturing into some country gardens in summer.

A couple of foreign tourists on the Royal Mile next to St Giles Cathedral, mesmerised by one of the many entertaining street performances. You wouldn’t know where it was, as the backdrop was not included in this sketch.

Based purely on fashions, I would say they were from Japan. The identical rucksacks drew my attention and the combo of shapes and patterns.
