Many people
find Moscow to be somehow plain an almost a bit boring, maybe even too
colorless of a capital. So the residential interiors more and more try to
capture the atmosphere of an exotic city or to reflect specific impressions of journeys around the world. This
particular design is a wonderful example of the increasingly popular practical
usage of the idea. The architect Victoria Tazhetdinova has not only
recreated the classic home décor, but
was able to capture a fraction of Venice itself – a splendor of the enchanting
world of carnivals.
This
project became a reflection of the house owner’s true self- Victoria says. The
strong and confident woman who isn’t afraid of bright colored or dark
mysterious toned paint is responsible of the identity of the unique design. The
favorite Venetian theme and the true heart of the style lies very much with the
original color scheme of the house.
For certain
parts of the walls at the apartment is chosen a darker pearly-matte paint with gleaming effect. The unique
texture and color adds a certain depth to the room and places the basis of the style by reflecting
the spirit of the city in water.
The light
furniture particularly stands out against the dark background, especially the
elements with café au lait color, such as crystal chandeliers and candlesticks.
The interior reminds us of a Venetian palace with the simple, yet effective and original ideas. It is achieved
mostly by adding small pieces to the overall décor like placing curtain rods at
the top of the walls in the kitchen and using decorative ceilings with
interesting moldings. The rooms connected through a small passage in the shape of an arch are
turned into a unified space that is now perfect for receiving guests.
The house
design was started from scratch, so all the rooms intended for common premises
were carefully planned - from the living
room and kitchen to the lack of a door
used to create space in the hallway.
In
accordance to the Venetian style the room transitions are inserted with arches,
imitation of columns and the corridor
is decorated with carnival masks.
With the
striving for maximal functionality the kitchen is connected to the balcony.
Placed there is a breakfast bar , combined with a kitchen cabinet. This passage
isn’t arched, but there are mirrors placed on the inner part of the hallway.
The large amount of gilded lighting fixtures, mirrors and the sumptuous interior items also contributes for the
splendor of the mesmerizing Venetian style.
In the
living room , as in each palace, are little secrets left behind. So beyond a secret door is placed a hidden
work cabinet - a privacy in public
areas. Personal spaces in the house, consisting of parental and child's bedroom
are located in remote parts of the dwelling. Here also is used Venetian plaster in different shades . Thus the
interior of the master bedroom is a combination of silver and black tones , the
mirror behind the bed not only expands the visual space, but also adds elegance
to the surroundings.
Thanks to it’s unique texture and reflective
surfaces, filling the space with exciting and mysterious images- a special
depth occurs at the house. And if not a Venetian carnival, the everyday life of
enchanting masquerades is much more pleasant to experience here - in
the same atmosphere.
