💛💜 Council buildings will be illuminated in Yellow and Purple tonight.

💛 Yellow lights mark GloWeek, raising awareness for the Child Brain Injury Trust.

We are receiving a high number of reports of fallen trees and debris across Ceredigion.

Our crews are out dealing with incidents in very challenging weather conditions. Due to the volume of calls, there may be delays in responding to some reports.

Incidents will be prioritised according to risk and urgency and attended to as resources allow, while ensuring it is safe for our crews to carry out the work.

⚠️ Weather warning for Ceredigion - Storm Austen and Storm Boelo⚠️

Yellow warnings for strong winds are in place today, Friday 23 October, until 9pm, with further warnings currently in place over the weekend.

Strong and gusty winds, accompanied by periods of heavy rain, may cause disruption across the county.

Please take care and:
🚗 Check conditions before travelling
🌊 Keep away from exposed coastal areas during strong winds
🌳 Take particular care around trees and structures that may be affected
🌦️ Keep up to date with the latest weather forecasts and warnings

⚠️ Weather warning for Ceredigion - The calm before the storm

Strong winds and unsettled weather are expected across Ceredigion, with a yellow warning for wind in place and potentially stronger conditions forecast over the weekend.

Strong winds could lead to difficult conditions along the coast, particularly around high tides. As a precaution, the flood gates in Aberaeron will be closed.

There is also a risk of trees and branches coming down, with trees potentially more vulnerable following the dry summer and while many are still in leaf. Fallen leaves and debris may also block drains, increasing the risk of localised surface water flooding.

Further unsettled weather is expected on Saturday and Sunday, which could bring additional disruption. We will continue to monitor conditions and respond to any issues affecting the highway network as they arise.

Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum marks an important milestone with a new roof on the iconic Coliseum Theatre 🤩

The Coliseum has stood at the heart of Aberystwyth's cultural life for more than a century. In 1904, local builders first installed the building's distinctive slate roof. Today, more than 120 years later, local builders have once again been entrusted with the task of protecting the landmark, replacing the roof with specially quarried slate from Blaenau Ffestiniog.
