The final donations have been confirmed and we are delighted to share that our Kiltwalkers raised an amazing £3,500.
Huge thanks to Susan King, Karen Moore , the staff at Nucore and CNR who walked the 18 miles from Aberdeen to Banchory in June to raise funds for us.

Located at Tweeddale, near Inverurie, the Gordon Riding for the Disabled Association (GRDA) has been offering Pony Therapy to children and adults of various ages and abilities with a spectrum of physical, intellectual, and mental health challenges. These beneficial sessions have been ongoing for 50 years.
The centre is sustained through fundraising, donations, and riding fees, requiring over £60,000 annually to operate.
Previously, nearly a quarter of their yearly income came from the local authority, which funded weekly riding sessions for school children with additional support needs from the local area. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts by the Local Authority, this funding was withdrawn, putting the children's sessions at risk.
At the recent Gordon RDA 50 Year celebration ball, sponsored by Nucore Group, the announcement of the budget cuts and their potential impact on the children was made. An emergency directors' meeting was convened on the spot, resulting in a unanimous decision that Nucore would cover the lost funds. This generous act ensures that the children can continue their sessions for the 2024-25 academic year.
The GRDA's mission is to utilize ponies to improve the lives of those with various difficulties and challenges. They currently assist up to 65 children and adults weekly through both ridden and non-ridden sessions.
Pictured below are Nucore Group Chief Executive Officer Mike Bryant, flanked by fellow directors Shaun Struthers and John Moore. It was their absolute pleasure to visit GRDA this morning and witness the amazing work carried out by the dedicated volunteers and the obvious joy these sessions bring to the children that attended.
