Statement on Your Party

Your Party represents a historic opportunity to shift power away from the capitalists and political establishment to the working class. For this to happen Your Party must be a transparent and open mass member democracy.

Important decisions about Your Party and it’s founding process have been taken behind closed doors, by people who have not been elected by and who are not accountable to any membership.

We support the call by ourparty.org.uk for control of Your Party to be handed over to an elected body acting with transparency and a mandate from membership. We encourage others to sign their open letter and demand “Your Party” becomes OUR party.

We will advocate the following within your party which we believe are essential for it’s success and to deal with the many challenges we face.
• Grassroots member lead democracy
• Strong locally organised branches
• Transparent and accessible decision making
• Your Party should be explicitly socialist seeking a clean break with the capitalist economy and state
• Your Party should be anti-imperialist; this includes being anti-NATO and anti-Zionist
• Your Party should be unashamedly pro social liberation and should be no place for transphobes and others who would seek to divide the working class

Sign the open letter: it's time for the people to take the reins. Your Party is too important to fall at the first hurdle. If you agree that the founding conference should be organised by a democratically elected body, sign your name.

✨ Event Announcement ✨

Hi everyone 👋

We’re holding an online meeting this Sunday, 17:00–18:30 (at the latest) to discuss the next step for Aberdeen Marxist Caucus — forming ourselves into a membership organisation with democratic processes so more people can be directly involved in decision-making.

You don’t need to be certain you want to join in order to attend — if you’re curious, undecided, or just want to listen in, you’re very welcome.

AGENDA
17:00–17:15 – Introductions
17:15–17:45 – Presentation: analysis of current organisational challenges & our proposal for moving forward
17:45–18:30 – Structured open discussion, criticism, and Q&A

After the discussion, we’ll invite anyone who’s interested to become a member — either as individuals or as part of a group. Onboarding will take place in the following week.

A provisional constitution will be published on Saturday for review. Members will decide whether to approve, amend, or replace it after onboarding.

A note on membership:
Becoming a membership organisation does not mean shutting out non-members. We’re committed to keeping our open, collaborative spirit. Events and input from non-members will always be welcome — membership simply offers more people the ability to take part in decision-making and planning directly.

See you on Sunday ❤️

All out against racism and fascism this Saturday!

04/08/2025

ALL OUT THIS SATURDAY 9TH AUGUST TO STAND AGAINST HATE, RACISM AND LIES.

Dear friends and comrades,
Regretfully Aberdeen, as the rest of Scotland, has too been plagued by the scourge of organised bigots and fascists who seek to divide our communities at the advantage of the ruling class.

In a great show of cowardice, 100 of said individuals gathered last Saturday to threaten asylum seekers hosted in a hotel in Aberdeen. This hateful presence went unchallenged by Police Scotland and was not met by a sufficiently large number of citizens who reject this rhetoric of hate.

This same group will be gathering again at the Links Road Hotel on Saturday 9th August at 12noon, attempting to spread the same lies about migrants and marginalised groups within our communities. We need your help more than ever to counter this hateful presence.

We stand united and steadfast to condemn racism in Scotland and across the world. We condemn the racist, state-sponsored demonisation of brown people, and the associated colonial rhetoric. This rhetoric is designed to justify exploitative economies and attacks on the most vulnerable as well as imperialist projects across the world, not least the monstrous settler colonial project in Palestine.

Sadly, there will be a concurrent far right presence in Peterhead on the same day and same time. If you are able to make it to Peterhead please consider joining that protest, organised by Aberdeen Trades Union Council.

Down with ethnic supremacy in Scotland, Palestine and all around the world. See you on Saturday.
