Work to begin on road in Brecon Beacons, after landslip shut it two months ago The landslip caused a vertical drop to open up immediately next to the road, between Llanthony and Cwmyoy.

So Now we Know! -
The report is published and the decision will be going forward to Cabinet on the 30th.
Griffiths are primed to commence works on the 7th April.
I have reiterated many times that this road is under full closure and for safety reasons this remains the highway authority position.

This is the latest:-
"We are continuing to make progress on this and happy to attend evening meeting next week,"

So 'this week is now next week' - again!!

Here is the latest - excerpts from our last email received yesterday :-
"we are doing our best to conclude land negotiations and the extents with the landowner."
"The contractor is primed and ready and can be mobilised and on site within two weeks.
Hopefully I will have something more substantial to update next week"

Don't you think monmouthshire CC it is time you got your act together? 🤫 Here are just a couple of contradictory actions.
This is what they said in an email sent Feb 15 2026 20:17 :- "I am hopeful the diversion route will be fully signed this week." That is only 17 days ago !

The council is supposed to have a Web page readily accessible to all with up-to-date information on, again in an email from them :-"As explained we will keep the website updated" - This is a screenshot of it, take note the date it was last updated 🙄
