Could you spare a few hours a week on a rota basis to help older people stay active and independent? Join our Social Footcare team and help change lives – providing basic toenail cutting. Sounds small? It’s not. Footcare = Less pain ➡️ More mobility ➡️ Less isolation ➡️ Fewer falls 🙌

Carmarthenshire Shake, Rattle and Stroll group embraced the heat and took a stroll to the Old Pembrey harbour this morning and then cooled off with a drink at Crazie Crepes Cafe! 🌊☀️🪁

Join us for a’ shake, rattle and stroll’. 10am Wednesdays, Sea View Terrace car park, Burry Port. Every week we take various routes around Burry Port harbour, Pembrey Old harbour and the Millennium Coastal path.

Celebrating Veterans of National Service in Wales

On Thursday 11th June 2026, Age Cymru Dyfed will host a special event at the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth, celebrating the voices and experiences of National Service veterans from across West Wales. As debate grows around the possible return of compulsory military service, the event will showcase powerful first-hand stories from veterans who served between 1947 and 1963 — preserving an important part of Welsh history for future generations through the Heritage Lottery-funded National Service Project.

Wrth i'r ddadl dyfu ynghylch y posibilrwydd o ddychwelyd gwasanaeth milwrol gorfodol, bydd y digwyddiad yn arddangos straeon pwerus o lygad y ffynnon gan gyn-filwyr a wasanaethodd rhwng 1947 a 1963 — gan ddiogelu rhan bwysig o hanes Cymru ar gyfer cenedlaethau'r dyfodol trwy Brosiect y Gwasanaeth Cenedlaethol a ariennir gan y Loteri Dreftadaeth.

The Carmarthenshire Crafty Crusaders group enjoyed an embroidery session this morning, a talented member of the group brought in her embroidery sewing machines and demonstrated what kind of patterns can be made, as the group experimented and produced some lovely pieces’.

Bringing National Service Stories to Life in Schools Across Wales

Age Cymru Dyfed is proud to be working in partnership with the National Library of Wales and People’s Collection Wales on an exciting education project that brings the voices of National Service veterans into classrooms across Wales.

The project builds on Age Cymru Dyfed’s existing bilingual National Service Stories initiative, funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, which captures and preserves the experiences of veterans for future generations. As part of this next phase, new training materials are being developed for schools, designed to help young people engage with and learn from these important personal histories.

The resources will be badged as a joint partnership between National Library of Wales, People’s Collection Wales and Age Cymru Dyfed, reflecting the shared commitment to preserving and sharing lived experiences of service.
