Did you know we have a volunteer-run second-hand bookshop at Hafod? It’s open 10am-4.30pm every day (volunteer dependent) and is cash only. So on your next visit don’t forget your change as well as your picnic and you might come home with some second-hand treasures!

Ardaloedd sydd ar gau yn Hafod | Closed areas at Hafod

Rydyn ni'n atgyweirio rhai ardaloedd yn Hafod felly mae’r Bont Alpaidd, Lefel Lampwll, y Twnnel a Rhaeadr Mossy Seat i gyd ar gau ar hyn o bryd. Mae hyn yn golygu bod rhan o Rodfa’r Bonheddwr hefyd ar gau, ac mae dargyfeiriad ar waith. Diolch am eich amynedd wrth i ni weithio i ailagor popeth.

We’re conducting repairs to some areas of Hafod so Alpine Bridge, Cavern Cascade, the Tunnel and Mossy Seat Falls are all currently closed. This means that a section of the Gentleman’s Walk is also closed, a diversion is in place. Thanks for your patience while we work to get everything back open.

Once a month, usually on a Wednesday, a friendly group of volunteers meet at Mrs Johnes’ Flower Garden for a day of gardening, chatting, tea and biscuits.

We’ve loved working with the Vincent Wildlife Trust to install ‘hot boxes’ and we’re excited to see what the trail cameras will pick up!

Exciting news from Mid‑Wales! 🐾

This week, during our annual den box monitoring field work in Mid Wales, staff and volunteers were thrilled to discover four of the den boxes being used... hopefully by pine martens! Using a thermal imaging camera, we detected heat signatures in four boxes!

These ‘hot boxes’ now have trail cameras set up nearby, and we’re hoping that we’ll be rewarded with sightings of pine marten mothers and their kits during the summer months.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers and Hafod NT/YG ranger team for supporting this monitoring work.

A blanket of bluebells is blooming across the Hafod Estate; it’s one of our favourite times of year. Nothing beats a bluebell amble!

Mae tân gwyllt yn parhau yn yr ardal gyfagos, ry' ni'n annog pawb i fod yn ymwybodol o unrhyw gyngor pellach sy'n cael ei rannu gan y Gwasanaeth Tân.

Hoffwn estyn diolch i'r Gwasanaeth Tân am gwaith a'u hymateb i'r sefyllfa.

We can confirm that the Hafod Estate is able to reopen today (01/05).

There is still an active wildfire in the area and we ask everyone to be aware of any further visiting advice issued by the fire service.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub CGC / MAWW Fire and Rescue for their work in managing the situation.

Our ranger team remain in contact with the fire service and continue to monitor the situation closely.
