Agricultural crime in the UK is increasingly becoming a fact of life for British farmers.
The theft of agricultural machinery is one of the fastest growing rural crimes. Behind every stolen tractor, quad bike or trailer is a household left feeling unsafe and looking for trusted solutions to protect what matters.
At the Cereals Event 2026, Rural SafeGuard will be co-exhibiting with DeterTech and VIN CHIP, bringing proven expertise in rural and agricultural security.
DeterTech’s intelligence-led approach to crime prediction, site security and forensic marking is trusted by all 43 UK police forces. VIN Chip’s advanced UHF RFID theft detection and forensic marking technology has delivered a 90% reduction in caravan theft and is now helping protect agricultural machinery, trailers and rural vehicles across Britain.
Together, we are building smarter solutions to protect livelihoods and create safer rural communities.
If agricultural crime is affecting your farm, the conversation is happening at Stand 440.

We’re proud to continue supporting the fight against rural crime alongside National Rural Crime Network and partners across the UK.
Protecting farms, machinery and rural businesses takes collaboration, and together we can help deter theft, support recoveries and create safer rural communities.
We look forward to continuing the journey together. 🚜🌾
Supporting rural communities takes consistent, committed partners. VIN CHIP continues to play that role as our Associate Member in the fight against rural crime across the UK.
As a specialist in vehicle and theft identification, VIN Chip has spent 25 yrs developing a technology that protects rural farms and businesses. Their advanced RFID and asset marking solutions are helping to deter theft and recover stolen assets.
Quad bikes, trailers, tractors, and agricultural machinery remain among the most targeted assets by organised criminal groups. VinChip’s work gives rural communities a strong line of defense, making it easier for law enforcement to act.
Partnerships like this sit at the heart of what NRCN stands for. When specialist organisations bring their expertise and commitment to the network, the collective impact reaches further protecting farms, supporting recoveries, and making rural communities across the UK safer for everyone.

Strong words from Tim Passmore, Chair of the National Rural Crime Network, and a powerful reminder of what real collaboration looks like in practice.
“VIN Chip’s expertise in equipment security continues to play a vital role in helping the rural community protect what matters most. Their support of the NRCN and our 2026 conference is genuinely appreciated, and we value the difference they help us make nationwide.”
At VIN Chip, one of our guiding principles is to continually develop and refine our technology to stay one step ahead of the criminal fraternity. But innovation alone only goes so far, it’s partnerships like this, and platforms such as the National Rural Crime Network Annual Conference, that turn capability into real-world impact.
We’re proud to be part of a network that isn’t just talking about rural crime, but actively strengthening the response to it.

Caravan and motorhome theft just got a little harder.
On Monday, we delivered Caravan & Motorcaravan Identification Training with Sussex Police, from the classroom at Steyning Police Station to hands-on training at Gatewick Farm Storage.
As a Platinum CaSSOA site, Gatewick offered the ideal real-world environment, giving officers access to a wide range of caravans and motorhomes.
Big thanks to Will at Gatewick for the support, and to Sergeant Brett Holden for organising.
Stronger identification. Faster recovery. Harder for thieves to win.

Great to be part of British Agricultural and Garden Machinery Association - BAGMA Connect hosted by Toro UK U.K. Limited, home of the iconic British lawnmower brand Hayter.
Strong session from Clive Harris, his VIN Chip presentation was well received and sparked valuable conversations around theft prevention and asset security.
A packed, insightful day covering everything from economic updates to battery safety and employment rights, plus a great opportunity to connect across the industry.
The factory tour, led by Craig H***e, was a standout, an impressive look behind the scenes and British manufacturing at its best.
Thanks to everyone involved a well-run event. Looking forward to the next one.
