A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for both the Army and the wider angling community. This also marks the third consecutive year that Army Angling members have been selected to represent the country in this format.

We are proud to launch the first Army Women in Sport Guide — a resource designed to provide insight, guidance, and practical support to help tackle barriers and promote opportunities for women participating in Army sport.

Developed following Army Sport’s 2024 study into the barriers and enablers influencing women’s involvement in sport, the guide includes recommendations, education, and contributions from Defence experts to support soldiers and commanders across the Army.

Sport plays a vital role in operational effectiveness, teamwork, wellbeing, and personal development — and ensuring equal opportunity to participate has never been more important.

We encourage all soldiers and commanders, irrespective of gender, to read and share the guide.

Yesterday, The Land Medical Training Centre (LMTC) delivered casualty simulation training to the sports coaches at Loughborough University, helping to strengthen medical response to sporting incidents.

The engagement from all 15 physios was outstanding throughout the day as they worked through a range of emergency scenarios including seizures, anaphylaxis, pelvic and femur fractures, spontaneous and tension pneumothorax.

In the afternoon, they focused on C-spine injury management, enabling the full team to work together in realistic, high-pressure situations. Great teamwork and excellent participation from everyone involved.

Not all legends wear capes, some wear Crocs 👏

Incredible to see athletes from across the Armed Forces running for such meaningful causes at the on Sunday — especially including SSgt Harley Smith from 2 Signal Regiment, who smashed a 2:47:42… while wearing Crocs 😳

That performance has earned him a brand new Guinness World Records title, all while raising money for the Army Benevolent Fund.

Outstanding achievement — congratulations Harley, and to all our Armed Forces athletes

A huge congratulations to Gdsm Manuqalo Komaitai for being awarded UKAF Sportswoman of the Year 2025.

Her 2024/25 season was nothing short of incredible, continuing her rapid rise through the game with standout performances for Army Women’s XVs in the Inter Service Championship.

Her form earned her a call-up to Fijiana, where she made her international debut and quickly stepped up on the world stage at the Rugby World Cup, playing in all pool matches and scoring against Scotland. She has since secured a signing to Harlequins, making her PWR debut in November against Gloucester-Hartpury, and is now back in camp with Fijiana ahead of her return to the UK for Inter Service.
