Residents affected should attend the Devonvale Hall in Tillicoultry
GROUND MOVEMENT, COALSNAUGHTON
The Council, along with its partners in Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and utility companies, attended Benbuck View in Coalsnaughton last night after evidence of ground movement was discovered.
Residents from 30 homes were evacuated safely. No-one was injured.
Benbuck View is still closed today, however the A908-B9140 remains open.
A rest centre was quickly established at nearby Devonvale Hall, but this was closed after all the affected residents were accommodated elsewhere.
Today Council officers remain at the hall to offer support and guidance to residents.
Investigations into the cause of the ground movement continue today and the Mining Remediation Authority are also on site.
The safety and wellbeing of all our residents is our primary concern and we be continuing to offer support to those directly affected.

There’s still time to provide feedback to help shape the future development of Alloa Town Centre. We want to understand how people currently use the town centre, the challenges they experience, and what improvements would make it a better place for everyone.
Please complete this online survey: https://orlo.uk/LiYSz
Once this initial period of community engagement is complete, we will be considering all the feedback to better understand what the key issues and priorities are for the community, and how best to address these. This will inform the preparation of a draft framework and project proposals for the town centre. We will then bring these proposals back to the community to give you the opportunity to further influence the framework and prioritise potential projects.
