A big thank you to everyone who attended the Easter Egg Hunt this morning in GCG Community Centre. Both adults and children alike had a great time.
A special thank you to Jenny and Grace from Y Lolfa, Lisa from the GCG Foodbank and Phil the GCG Caretaker as well as cllr. Callum Poole and cllr. Leander Prescott Who all gave their time this morning to make this a great event.

The Remembrance Sunday Service will be taking place at 11:00 on Sunday, 9th November 2025 at the GCG Cenotaph, please arrive at 10:45.

In Your Community | Officers from the Pontardawe Neighbourhood Policing Team have seized a quad bike that was being used to cause anti-social behaviour in the Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen area.

The vehicle was recovered as part of our ongoing operational plan to tackle vehicle crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Please be aware there are some blocked drains causing water to sit on the road, please drive carefully.

Thank you to all who came to the Halloween event last night in GCG community Centre, a lot of time, money and effort goes into putting these events on, all entirely run by volunteers and donations to support our community.

It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of Cllr. Len Preece.

Len was a long standing and active Community Councillor representing Tairgwaith on the Gwaun Cae Gurwen Community Council, he was a former Chair, and he was also a Governor at Tairgwaith School, not to mention a Board Member and active volunteer at Canolfan Maerdy.

We will post a notice of vacancy after the funeral as a mark of respect for one of our most long standing Councillors, who spent most of his life giving back to our community.

He will be greatly missed!

Len's funeral will be at 14:00 on Tuesday, 4th November at Llanelli Crem, all are welcome to attend.
