What a fabulous evening celebrating Black History Month with Black CORE . Thank you so much Jo & team for the screening of Everything: The Real Thing Story, introduced by the producer/director.

What an incredible film! Fantastic music, brilliant archive footage and some really powerful personal stories. It brought to life not just the success of The Real Thing, but the talent, determination and barriers they faced along the way. A band whose place in British music history deserves far greater recognition.

It also reminded me why films like this matter. Black history is British history, yet so many of these stories and contributions are still missing from what we learn and teach. We need to hear them, understand them and pass them on. It's about knowing our shared history in all its richness, not just the bits we're most familiar with.

Thank you, Black Core Kent, for a wonderful evening.
