Haddenham-Thame Active Travel Route UPDATE:

A new public engagement activity for the Haddenham-Thame active travel route is running until 23:59 on Tuesday 24th November 2026: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/h-to-t-active-travel-route

Buckinghamshire Council and Oxfordshire County Council are together carrying out an assessment to compare different options for a safe walking, cycling, and wheeling route between Haddenham and Thame, including Haddenham and Thame Parkway. This assessment considers any major problems that that could prevent a route from being delivered or make it much more expensive or difficult to build.

The identified options are organised into four groups, and the assessment recommends eight options that could be taken forward for further consideration.

There will also be two drop-in events where members of the public can view the information in person and speak to project officers:
1) Haddenham on Thursday 5 November 2026 from 3pm to 8pm, in the Conference Room at Haddenham Parish Council office.
2) Thame on Saturday 14 November 2026 from 10am to 3pm, in the Upper Chamber at Thame Town Hall.

Are you struggling with the costs of heating oil?

ACRE says heating oil rose from about 61p to £1.07 a litre in seven months, adding more than £400 to a typical 1,000-litre delivery - https://acre.org.uk/energy-price-rises-hit-heating-oil-users-hardest-as-costs-soar-by-74-per-cent/

In Great Britain, unlike gas and electricity customers, those who heat their homes with oil are not covered by the energy price cap, meaning they are exposed to more immediate energy price hikes.

To offer support, £27 million was provided to local authorities in England, helping low-income households who have no choice but to top up their tanks at a time when prices have risen so significantly. This was distributed via the Crisis and Resilience Fund, and can be viewed in more detail on the Buckinghamshire Council website: https://www.buckinghamshire.gov.uk/council-tax-benefits-housing/cost-of-living/crisis-resilience-fund/
