Happy Easter!
Bumble would like to introduce you to his new library friend, Lisa-Marie Mouse, hand made with love and tender care by a customer who has been with us a good while on the Erdington & Kingstanding route. Thank you for our beautiful gift and card!
They are both hoping the Easter Bunnie will pop in and are thinking of decorating a few eggs for the occasion.

Ok, we all know Bumble is dressed as Sherlock Holmes here!
But does anyone recall Arthur Conan Doyle's first novel featuring the detective, written all the way back in 1887?

Any guesses to which famous literary character Bumble is portraying today?😄
The first novel in this young adult dystopian series was published in 2008

This one might be a bit harder!
Today Bumble is dressed as one of Literature's most famous romantic heroes from a novel written in 1813.

Bumble has decided to dress up as a series of famous literary characters, can you guess who this is?
Hopefully they'll get a bit harder as we go on!

My 104 year old mother has been using Birmingham's Library Services at Home for several years. It has been a life saver as she is an avid book reader.
She has loved the selection of books that they deliver each month, applying and receiving the service was an easy process.
A huge thank you for this amazing service.
Lovely recognition for the service that we provide and the joy it brings.

I've been reserving classic children's books for one of our adult customers who wanted to re-read favourites from his childhood.
I think this is a great thing to do from time to time. Asterix in Britain and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are my top two!

Staff recommendation-
I really enjoyed this memoir by Jeanette Winterson. It's not my usual type of read but it was recommended to me and I found it very touching and funny.

I should have thanked whoever has been topping up my library box.
It has been under their influence that responsibility rests for widening and lightening up my reading list and, perhaps to some extent, my outlook on life! I have so enjoyed the variety I’ve noticed a change in attitude, or maybe a relaxation, a softer version of me at times. Whatever . . . Thank you.
We frequently receive wonderful comments from our grateful customers.
Undertaking personal home visits these comments are often said in person so we get to hear them, this particular one was sent by email.
