It's deeply troubling to hear reports that Reform UK are appointing Rajbir Singh to lead City Council if they win the upcoming local elections
He was due to stand in but acted quickly to move him out the area. We have some information and will be looking into it as a matter of urgency before posting further.
Mr. Singh previously led Sandwell Council as Labour leader, a period marked by several controversial decisions. He reversed his stance on the Brandhall development after claiming they were "a listening council" and attempted to close Walker Grange Care Home, displacing vulnerable elderly residents
There were also serious concerns around transparency, particularly regarding the awarding of SEND contracts to the son of a former deputy leader.
Is this truly the leadership Birmingham needs?
