The people of Shard End and Castle Bromwich deserve representatives who stand up for EVERYONE, regardless of their background or faith.

Being elected is a privilege, not a free pass.

This week at Full Council, I made my maiden speech - making the case for a fairer Birmingham, not just a greener Birmingham.

During the debate on the climate emergency, I spoke about the importance of tackling climate change while making sure that the transition is fair and works for everyone across our city.

I also highlighted the work Birmingham has already been doing, alongside the action being taken by the Labour Government.

For me, building a greener Birmingham must go hand in hand with tackling inequality, supporting communities and making sure nobody is left behind.

This evening at Birmingham Labour’s press conference on Palestine, I made our position clear.

The announcement from our new Labour Government and Foreign Secretary is a first step in the right direction and we welcome it.

But let’s be absolutely clear: Palestinian lives cannot be reduced to statements and announcements.

We need action. We need justice. We need an end to the killing and suffering of innocent Palestinians.

And we need a Government prepared to use every available diplomatic and political lever to push for a lasting ceasefire, humanitarian access, accountability and a just peace.

This is a step forward.

Now we need to see the action that must follow.

What a weekend!

I took on the Carding Mill Valley hike for Heartlands Hospital Charity, and together we raised over £10k! 🙌

Perfect weather, an amazing group of people and a challenge I’d happily do all over again.

🚨We’ve received multiple reports and CCTV footage of fly tipping on the corner of Bellefield Road and Cuthbert Road over the last few weeks.

In one clip we were able to identify the vehicle registration involved, and the information has now been passed to the enforcement team at Birmingham City Council.

If you are caught on CCTV dumping rubbish, you will face the consequences.
