SENCO Drop-In sessions
Our SENCo, Mrs Gillett will be holding parent/carer drop-in sessions for students at Alec Hunter on the following dates this term:
Wednesday 13th May 2026: 3.20pm-4.20pm
Monday 22nd June 2026: 8.50am-9.50am
Mrs Gillett will be available for any parent/carer to pop in and discuss any worries or concerns you may have regarding your child, or if you are looking for advice/support regarding SEN. Please note, this is a 'without appointment' session so there may be a wait as parents/carers will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Please sign in at reception.

We are recruiting for a School First Aid Officer. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and resourceful First Aid Officer, with strong inter-personal skills, to provide first aid support to students and staff. Experience in a caring or medical role would be an advantage but is not mandatory and a valid first aid at work certificate would be desirable, however, if necessary, this may be gained via training. The Tech Mentor National No-Code Hackathon is a STEM enrichment experience where students aged 14-18 work in teams to solve real-world challenges using modern digital tools. During the hackathon, students work in teams to respond to a real-world challenge. Previous themes have explored areas such as sustainability, education access, and digital wellbeing. Using beginner-friendly no-code platforms, students design and prototype a digital solution with guidance from experienced mentors. No previous coding or technical experience is required. This online event takes place on Sunday 12th April 2026, 10am-4pm and costs £15 per student. For further information and registration please follow the link below:

Braintree Sport and Health will be offering Kids Holiday Clubs for 9-14 year olds over the Easter Holidays. Clubs run from Tuesday 7th – Friday 10th April, 10am – 2pm each day. Places are FREE with a holiday activities code and this includes a hot meal. Paid places are also available for £24 per child per day if you do not have a holiday activities code. The cost is £20 per person which covers buffet, hire of a marquee and a drink.
