On behalf of Public Health Wales we share the below information.
COVID-19 can be a very serious virus at any time of year.
Getting your COVID-19 vaccination will help protect you for longer.
The vaccination will be offered to groups of people who are at greater risk if they get COVID-19.
These are:
• people aged 75 and older
• residents in care homes for older people, and
• anyone aged six months and over who has a
weakened immune system.
Your local NHS Health Board will contact you if you are eligible. You should have the vaccine as soon as you are offered it. Vaccination is one of the best ways to prevent severe illness from COVID-19.

Today we had the privilege of being part of the panel at the All Wales Carers Assembly 2026 🌟
It was a powerful and emotional event, hosted by Carers Wales that brought together carers from across Wales to share their lived experiences of what it truly means to care for a loved one.
Listening to these stories was a stark reminder of the immense challenges carers face every single day - often quietly, tirelessly, and without recognition.
A huge thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and thank you to fellow panellists David Pritchard Gofal Cymdeithasol Cymru / Social Care Wales and Darren Hughes Welsh NHS Confederation for their insights.
