Each year, Wilderness run a Local Bursary programme, providing grants to organisations and community groups that make a positive contribution to the local area.

How does it work?
Nominations are accepted for organisations based in the OX29 9** and OX7 3** postcode areas.

PLEASE NOTE: each organisation/project only needs to be nominated ONCE to be considered. There is no need to submit duplicate nominations.

After the nomination form closes at 6pm on Friday 30th October, there will be a new form for residents within these postcodes to vote for their preferred organisations, incorporating the feedback shared about last year’s process.

The highest-voted organisations will receive grants based on their requested funding and the funds available. Funding will be distributed across the towns and villages within the two postcode areas.

Please click the link to complete this form.

Traffic filters will replace the congestion charge in Oxford from Monday 28 September 2026.

From this date, you won’t be able to pay the £5 congestion charge. If you drive a car through a traffic filter while it is operating, you will need a valid permit.

You’ll still be able to drive to all parts of Oxford, but you may need to use a different route if you do not have a permit.

Read our blog for information about permits, routes and what this means for your journeys: https://blogs.oxfordshire.gov.uk/traffic-filters/

With sadness, we announce the departure of our Parish Chair and Village Hall Chair, Marc Thompson.
Marc, who has served as Chair of the Parish Council for many years, has decided to take very early retirement and, after 51 years, will be leaving Finstock.
Having spent more than half a century as part of village life — from his days as a pupil at Finstock Primary School to his many years of service to the community.
As he begins this exciting new chapter, Marc plans to publish his first novel later this year.
He also looks forward to spending more time at his home in Greece with his partner Helen.
We wish Marc and Helen all the very best for the future.
