Today I asked the Prime Minister what more the government is doing to support access to treatment for endometriosis. I've heard from many women in Colchester who have endured ongoing pain and trouble getting help.

The Women's Health Strategy is committed to making it easier for women to get faster diagnosis and treatment and I'm following up with local services to see what more we can do to locally to make further improvements.

I was delighted to welcome pupils from Roach Vale and St Michael’s schools this week to the Children’s Parliament event in Westminster.

This is an initiative inspired by the late MP Sir David Amess, designed to place primary school children at the centre of democracy.

Today I joined local and national campaigners on endometriosis in Westminster for the launch of a new report - Endometriosis (Not) in the Workplace.

No one should have to choose between managing their health and building their career. And we need to do more to ensure workplaces are supportive to women with endometriosis and other menstrual health conditions.

I’ll continue to work in Colchester and in Westminster to ensure we are providing the necessary support to women to lead full lives.

Today I hosted the team from St Helena in Parliament to share the great work they are doing. We joined other hospices and Members of Parliament to discuss the innovative ways they are working in Essex and how we can make changes at a national level to support palliative and end of life care. A really positive day hearing about the important work they do in our local community.

It was a pleasure to visit Essex Sight and learn more about the fantastic work they do supporting blind and visually impaired people across Colchester and Essex.

For more than 100 years Essex Sight has been supporting people with sight loss, and today provides information, advice and guidance, community activities, home visits and support through Colchester Eye Clinic.

As well as their Colchester base, Essex Sight runs a pop-up sight centre at Colchester Library every Wednesday from 10am–1pm, and a coffee morning at Level Best Café on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am–12pm.

Thank you to Jonathan and the team for such a warm welcome and for taking the time to tell me more about the important work you do in our community.

I’ll be talking to the amazing Naz Shah MP - about her life and her journey from being forced into marriage at the age of 15 to winning a seat in UK House of Commons in 2015 - in Colchester on Thursday 22 October. It’s a fundraiser for my campaigning. Link to tickets in the comments..,
