Quiet castle...

Afternoon sun in the Naval Lobby...

A moment in the spotlight for one of our Regency mahogany chairs, described as being 'in the style of Morel and Hughes' c.1810

Nicholas Morel and Robert Hughes were upholsters and cabinet makers who found their way to prominence when the Prince Regent, the future George IV, commissioned chairs for Carlton House.

While our 'in the style of' examples of Regency upholstery are not quite as ornate as those held by the , they do provide an interesting insight into what we might describe as 'aspirational consumerism'... 👑🫣

Our 2026 Open Season has been sensational!!! 💥

From the roses to the jousters, the live music to the living history, and the Rockingham Fairies to the Artisan Fair, we're sure you'll agree that, this year, Rockingham Castle has rocked 🏰✨✨

Whether you visted, traded, danced, cheered, marvelled, shopped, or simply spent time here to take a moment to breathe - thank you for becoming part of our story in 2026 🫶🙌

Don't fear! The Castle door has been left ajar for our Halloween Spooktacular 28 - 31 October - be sure to join us there, if your dare... 🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️

We're leaving our garden gates open a little longer this Autumn...

Fall in love with all the colours of the season in Rockingham Castle's gardens and grounds this October! 🍂🌳

Autumn sunlight streaming through the windows of the Great Hall combines dramatic effect with the quiet realisation that the sun has hit this window at this time for centuries...
While the light burst can't be picked up by the eye, the light and warmth thrown into the Great Hall is an experience that transcends time... ✨✨
