Earlier this week we introduced our turkeys to our own fresh barley straw, grown on our farm. For the first four weeks we use small wood shavings as bedding, and then we gradually add straw. This video was taken five minutes after they were bedded down for the first time with straw, the sound they are making is one of uncertainty but happy at the same to be exploring something new.
All our poultry are given fresh straw daily, giving them a happy area to live in.
Keep your eyes peeled for lots of updates in the coming weeks, we may even do a meet the farmer post 🤷‍♂️🦃🐓
