Kings Lynn & West Noroflk have requested that te hParish Council share this with everyone.. *Pensioners urged to check they’re not missing out on vital Pension Credit*

On 13 October, the government urged pensioners and their families to check whether they are eligible for Pension Credit, a benefit worth an average of more than £4,500 a year.

As part of a nationwide awareness campaign, 660,000 information leaflets will be delivered to households in seven areas with high numbers of low-income pensioners.

The campaign aims to ensure that older people receive all the financial support available to them as many continue to face cost-of-living pressures. In addition to Pension Credit, the government highlights other forms of assistance, including the Winter Fuel Payment, Cold Weather Payments, Attendance Allowance and the State Pension.

The leaflets provide practical guidance on how to apply for Pension Credit and explain how family members can help loved ones make a claim. They also challenge common misconceptions that may discourage applications, such as the belief that homeowners or those with savings are automatically ineligible.

The initiative forms part of the department’s Pension Credit Week of Action and includes advertising across television, radio, print and social media. Pensioners seeking further support are also encouraged to contact charities such as Independent Age and Citizens Advice for guidance on retirement-related benefits and entitlements.

Hundreds of thousands of pensioners are being urged to check if they can benefit from Pension Credit, an income top-up that can provide vital help with everyday costs.

🚗 **Speed awareness data from Docking**

The Parish Council has received the latest data from the village’s speed awareness units.

📍 **Brancaster Road**
- 13,370 vehicles recorded
- 2,959 speeding
- 22.13% were speeding
- Highest recorded speed: 45mph

📍 **Sedgeford Road**
- 24,223 vehicles recorded
- 9,189 speeding
- 37.94% were speeding
- Highest recorded speed: 60mph

The figures show why tackling speeding remains important. The Council has agreed to keep the unit at Ripper Hall in its current location and repair it, with the costs justified by the need to reduce speeding.
