SMILE Day Opportunities SMILE provide day opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, older people and people who require specialist support.

We facilitate activities with local people bringing generations together, to grow and learn for the wellbeing of our community.

We always look forward to Fridays at Café SMILE, where we volunteer each week. We love spending time with our customers, having a friendly chat and catching up with everyone.

We have made friendships with many individuals who visit Café SMILE, including members of the church community, Mother Hookers CIC, Doncaster Councils Stronger Communities Teams, and members of the public.

A volunteer at Café SMILE, shared, “I like chatting with all the customers and making them feel welcome by saying hello. I like making the toast, making cups of tea and washing and drying the dishes”.

What Do We Do?

Café SMILE is run by adults with learning disabilities. Working in the café provides work experience and training and expands social skills. Skills learnt can promote independence and build confidence.

We are open every Friday, 10:00am to 12.30pm at:

Next week the Community Connectors will be supporting Doncaster's Preparing for Adulthood Events in our drop ins for people aged 14 to 25.

Please come along to our usual Community Doors drop-ins and tell us what opportunities you go to and tell us if you need any support to overcome any barriers when joining in activities in the community.

If you can't make it to a drop in, please scan this QR code and you can answer the questions on the form.

If you come along to a drop-in and we can support you to scan the QR code, so that you can share your experiences.

Your answers and experiences, will help shape our future work on belonging, friendships, relationships and community inclusion, so everyone in Doncaster, feels that they belong!

Stirling SMILE, which is based in the Balby Bridge area of Doncaster, have been very busy making decorations for Halloween.

We had great fun using balloons and papier-mâché to create Halloween-themed hanging decorations. Once they were dry, we decorated them with paints, pens, and other craft materials before displaying them around the centre, ready for our spooktacular Halloween party!
