Some moments at events are loud and busy.
Others are quiet, anxious, and uncertain.
In those moments, a nurse steps forward.
Across Dudley & Sandwell, the volunteer nurses of St John Ambulance bring more than clinical skill โ they bring reassurance, clarity, and steady leadership when itโs needed most.
Theyโre the calm voice in a first aid tent.
The careful hands checking observations.
The mentor guiding a cadet through their first real scenario.
The experienced presence that helps a whole team feel confident.
This International Nurses Day, weโre celebrating the difference our nurses make โ not just in the care they give, but in the confidence they build in everyone around them.
To our Dudley & Sandwell nurses: thank you for the quiet impact you make at every duty, every session, every time.

๐ Help Our Volunteers Save Lives โ Support a New Defibrillator ๐
Our local volunteers with St John Ambulance give their time freely to keep people safe at community events and to support in emergencies across our area.
Weโre currently fundraising for a new defibrillator โ one of the most vital pieces of equipment we carry. In a cardiac arrest, early defibrillation can more than double a personโs chance of survival. Having reliable, up-to-date equipment with us at all times can truly mean the difference between life and death.
As a volunteer-led charity, we rely on the generosity of local businesses and our community to help us stay equipped and ready to respond when someone needs us most.
๐ท Our target: ยฃ1000
๐ Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to this goal.

Shout out to David and Hannah who are running for the Network fundraising goal! ๐
This weekend, many of our volunteers will be out and about across Birmingham proving first aid cover to those who need it at Great Birmingham Run.
Some of our incredible volunteers will be taking on the Great Birmingham Run in support of St John Ambulance! ๐โโ๏ธ๐
Please keep an eye out for them along the route as they represent SJA with pride, determination, and community spirit.
If you can, show your support by giving them a cheer โ and even better, consider sponsoring them to help raise vital funds for the lifesaving work of St John Ambulance.
Good luck to all our runners โ weโre so proud of you! ๐
