We held our final children's activity for the half term on Friday. This time round the kids enjoyed themselves doing some hammer printing.

Busy today near the Bat lake clearing blackthorn and bramble, to open up the oak woodland, with Surrey Choices (10 fantastic guys working hard in the sunshine) and 8 members of the TMBG volunteer group, toiling away removing dense bramble and thorn which was choking the native trees which had not been managed for at least the last 10 years.

Tuesday saw the first of this half term's children's events run by the Tice's Meadow Bird Group. The main activity was weaving and everyone had a great time under the guidance of Beverley.

We paid another visit today to the two Tern rafts on the large lake known as the Workings to reduce the steepness of the new ramps. While we were there, we also took the opportunity to ring the Black-headed Gull chicks.
A total of 9 Black-headed Gull chicks were ringed. Another 7 chicks were too small to take a ring and there were at least another 18 eggs yet to hatch - possibly up to 25!

The TMBG are aware of the ongoing situation with the goslings trapped on the floating raft in the Workings. We are doing everything that we can to try and sort the problem.
