Save M&S Food in Fleet - Alex Brewer MP I am writing, alongside many others in North East Hampshire, to express our disappointment at the decision to close M&S Food in Fleet.

EDIT: I can't respond to all comments, but suffice to say, I am absolutely in favour of businesses making profit. Of course they need to do that. But M&S isn't a loss-making business that needs to consolidate to survive. Last year's profit after tax was £236m.
The business is making a strategic decision to remove itself from our high streets. This will affect the very towns that helped build the business in the first place, including Fleet. They have responded to my request for a meeting and I will update in due course.

M&S Food in Fleet is closing

This morning I wrote to Marks and Spencer 's Corporate Affairs Director to express my concerns and disappointment about the closure of Fleet's M&S Food store, and its impact on our high street, our businesses, and our residents. Profit cannot come before people and Fleet deserves better. You can read the full letter here.

After the tragic news of a young person drowning today I urge young and old to please follow these guidelines and keep yourself safe
My deepest condolences for the family and friends of the young man.

This is such sad news indeed. I know that the community will come together to support the parents at this difficult time

🗳Thank you to all those who voted at all, perhaps for the first time. In too many places, democracy is stifled or eliminated. We must never take it for granted.
