Every year, the National Lottery Community Fund distributes millions of pounds of the National Lottery's good cause money to community groups and charitable projects around the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland operate with a place based way of working and have a Lanarkshire team covering North and South Lanarkshire. ⭐. The Ethnic Minority Development Fund is now open for applications!
We’ve reopened the funding programme to support ethnic minority-led third sector organisations across Scotland to deliver projects that benefit their communities.
We’re investing £500,000 to help break down barriers and create opportunities for people from ethnic minority backgrounds, in partnership with The Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations Scotland (CEMVO).
Organisations can apply for grants from £500 to £15,000 to help build capacity within their teams when applying for funding.
It will support community-led projects that:
- Bring ethnic minority people together and build strong relationships
- Help more ethnic minority people to thrive by supporting them early
- Improve places and spaces that matter to ethnic minority communities

If your organisation works with people who face barriers to banking, credit, or other financial services, we want to hear about their experiences to help shape this funding. We’d also like to talk to organisations that prevent financial exclusion through education and support.

Congratulations to Shining Stars ASN Theatre School - SCIO on their recent National Lottery Awards for All grant. This will help support the Coatbridge theatre school for anyone with an additional support need. They offer workshops in Drama, Musical Theatre, Dance, Drama Therapy, Makaton Choir, and Arts Therapy.

Congratulations to Disco Buddies on their recent National Lottery Awards for All grant. They will use the funding to run sensory session, and built-in support sessions, for individuals with additional support needs and their carers. This will be in addition to their weekly inclusive disco events for adults with disabilities, ASN or anyone experiencing loneliness.

Congratulations to Shining Stars ASN Theatre School - SCIO on their recent National Lottery Awards for All grant. This will deliver a one-day music festival event to provide an inclusive social and cultural opportunity for individuals with additional support needs, their families, and the wider Coatbridge community.

Congratulations to Cardowan Community Meadow on their recent National Lottery Awards for All grant. The grant will support the delivery of community wellbeing activities from the groups community hub and active travel hub facilities. This will improve health and wellbeing and community cohesion in Cardowan, North Lanarkshire.

Congratulations to MS Society Lanarkshire on their recent National Lottery Awards for All grant. This will fund a counsellor to deliver a series of specialist counselling sessions to people across Lanarkshire. Further, the group will develop their peer support activities to help people living with MS feel less isolated. The project will help individuals to develop self management strategies for their MS and support their emotional wellbeing.

Congratulations to SakoonMind on their recent National Lottery Awards for All grant. The funding will deliver free mental health and wellbeing workshops and events for members of the South Asian community and other locals within North Lanarkshire and Glasgow. The workshops and events will bring people together across communities to destigmatize discussions about mental health, share lived experience, and engage with wider community support.
