Congratulations to Goring-in-Bloom on winning Gold. What an achievement given the challenging summer weather. Thank you for helping our village look beautiful.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Goring-on-Thames in Bloom (Thames & Chilterns) has won GOLD at the National Finals of the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards!

This is an incredible achievement and testament to the hard work, dedication and passion of all our wonderful volunteers, supporters, local businesses and GPC who all work so hard all year round to make our village so beautiful.

From the stunning hanging baskets on the High Street, to our iconic flower boat on the river and the displays across the village - as featured on the big screen yesterday - every single plant makes a difference.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us. We couldn't have done it without you!

THE BIG SWEEP
🌰 It’s not just leaves! 🍂
Have you noticed how much is on the ground this autumn? Beech husks, conkers, pine cones and seeds are everywhere. It’s a bumper year for nuts!

It’s great news for squirrels and birds, but a lot more to sweep up for us. 😄
Come and join us on 7th November and help keep our paths and verges clear.

Thank you to residents who took time to contact us about the possibility of Battle Road joining Oxfordshire County Council’s Quiet Lane scheme. As a result of this feedback, the Parish Council has resolved to withdraw our original expression of interest, and to take no further part in the scheme. We do, however, remain committed to supporting active travel in the village through the work of our Travel & Transport committee and the work they are doing on a cycling infrastructure plan and a car free/low traffic route to Wallingord. We're grateful for the support of Cllr Maggie Filipova Rivers in these initiatives.
