Half term didn't quite go to plan!
My little boy was poorly for much of it and, quite honestly, we spent far more time indoors than we'd hoped. We'd planned adventures, days out and lots of exploring, but with temperatures soaring above 30°C and a poorly little boy to look after, our plans had to change.
Instead, it was early morning walks and late evening park visits that got us through. 🌅
On one of those evenings, when he was finally feeling a little better, I asked him to film what it looks like to be a baby underneath Mummy's brand-new parachute...
🌞 **SUNSHINE PARACHUTE HAS ARRIVED!** 🌞
It's rather ironic that this was filmed as the sun was setting, but with those vibrant colours, I think it still shines brightly! 🌇
My little quality-control assistant took his role very seriously, and his verdict was clear:
*"Babies are going to LOVE this because it makes wind that breezes through your hair!"*
And he's not wrong! Alongside all the fun, this ribbon parachute offers so many opportunities for learning and development:
✨ Encourages visual tracking as little eyes follow the flowing ribbons and bright colours
✨ Supports reaching, grasping and hand-eye coordination as babies stretch out to catch the ribbons
✨ Provides sensory exploration through movement, texture and gentle air flow
✨ Helps develop gross motor skills through reaching, stretching, kicking and moving
✨ Encourages cause-and-effect learning as babies see their actions create movement
✨ Creates a gentler visual experience for younger babies while still being engaging for older little ones
✨ Offers opportunities for peek-a-boo games and exploring object permanence
✨ Promotes communication, connection and shared moments of joy
And, of course, it's the perfect excuse to get the bubbles out too! 🫧
I can't wait to start this term - it's going to be so much fun - let's hope there'll be some (slightly cooler) sunshine we can enjoy too! 💛

My "why" 💜💙
Why is LullaBaby important to me?
My motivations for finding time with my family are ultimately what led me on my LullaBaby journey.
I needed to find a gentle balance between all I love about work and all I need to do for my family.
But my WHY runs far deeper than that.
There's so much passion and drive behind all I do- I've come to realise that I could literally talk about this for hours.
It all comes from a place of truly wanting to do MY best.
Doing my best for my son and my family.
And also doing my best for the LullaBaby community.
It's so important to me that LullaBaby is a safe and welcoming space: where families can share, be themselves and belong.
A place created with calm, intent, purpose and growth: truly holding space for everyone.
A class that helps celebrate you, your child and your journey and helps parents feel supported connected and confident.
A place to explore, learn and simply be. Together.
Why?
Because the early years are so precious. They deserve investment and time, presence, creativity and love.
And because building a village helps us realise we're not alone in this journey.

Hey, I’m Nic 💕
I've noticed a lot more new faces here recently... so please let me introduce myself!
I’m the owner and class leader behind LullaBaby Astley, Tyldesley, Swinton and Worsley, and I run sessions here in my local community.
I’ve worked with children for many years, in various roles across early years and primary, and as a volunteer with youth groups. Those experiences, alongside being a parent myself, have shaped how I show up in this space: calmly, thoughtfully, and with a real understanding that every child, every family, and every journey is different.
LullaBaby is both my business and my passion, rooted in a love of the early years and the quiet magic in them. The small moments. The connection. The way babies learn best through music, movement, sensory play, and simply being close to the people who care for them.
Creating sessions that feel gentle, supportive, and community-focused, never rushed or overwhelming.
My classes are as much about the grown-ups as they are the babies. A place to come as you are. To sit on the floor, sing a song, watch your baby explore, and be part of a community of families sharing the same season of life.
