Teamwork Makes the Difference
Over the past few weeks, everyone at SAFE Fire & Security Systems has had their heads down and been fully focused on delivering for our customers.
We’ve been busy onboarding a number of new multi site contracts following several recent contract awards, and I couldn’t be prouder of how the team has pulled together. From our engineers out on site, to the office team keeping everything moving behind the scenes, it’s been a real team effort.
As we reach the end of another month, it’s also a good opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far this year.
We’ve already surpassed our mid year targets and, incredibly, have smashed last year’s turnover with six months of the year still to go. Results like that don’t happen by accident. They come from hard work, commitment, trust and a team that genuinely supports one another.
With that in mind, it’s time to take a well earned break from the day to day and enjoy some time together outside of work.
We’ve got a team go karting day and meal booked for all the guys and girls at SAFE. A chance to switch off, have a laugh and celebrate what we’ve achieved together so far.
A huge thank you to every member of the team for your continued effort and dedication. The first half of the year has been exceptional.
Here’s to an even bigger and better second half of the year.
See you on the podium! 🏁🙌

Standards do not stay high by accident.
This afternoon we brought some of our engineers back into the office for a focused refresher session on engineer compliance reports, the quality of our findings, and the way we raise and communicate defect quotations.
As SAFE continues to grow, it is important that every customer receives the same clear, professional and consistent level of service across every site we attend.
A good service visit should leave the customer properly informed.
Not just that a system has been tested, but what has been checked, what has been identified, what action may be required, and why it matters from a compliance and safety point of view.
That is why we regularly review our internal processes, carry out spot checks and invest time back into the team.
It keeps everyone aligned.
It improves communication.
It supports better decision making for our customers.
Most importantly, it helps us maintain the standards we expect from ourselves.
We are proud to be building a team that cares about doing things properly, not just getting things done.
Because better reporting leads to better compliance, better customer understanding and better outcomes on site.
That is The SAFE Way.
If you would like a fire and security provider that takes compliance, communication and service quality seriously, message us to arrange a site visit.

🚨 This might be a few years old… but the lesson is just as important today
A case reported by the Stourbridge News highlighted serious fire safety failures at the Talbot Hotel — with those responsible jailed after putting lives at risk.

Time may have passed…
But the risks haven’t changed.
⸻
❌ What typically goes wrong in cases like this:
* Fire alarms not maintained or not working properly
* Inadequate detection or warning systems
* Poor escape routes or lack of planning
* No competent person overseeing compliance
* Paperwork missing or not up to standard
⸻
✅ How this could have been avoided:
At SAFE Fire & Security Systems, this is exactly what we prevent every day.
✔️ Systems designed to BS 5839
✔️ Maintained by a BAFE SP203-1 Full Scope accredited company
✔️ Regular servicing with compliant documentation
✔️ Clear guidance for the Responsible Person
✔️ Honest reporting — we don’t mask faults, we fix them
Because compliance isn’t just paperwork…
It’s what stands between a safe evacuation and a tragedy.
⸻
⚠️ The reality:
If there’s a fire, the first thing investigators, insurers, and the fire service will ask for is:
👉 Maintenance records
👉 Certification
👉 Proof of compliance
If you can’t provide it… the consequences are serious.
⸻
💬 My advice (whether you use us or not):
If you’re responsible for a building — shop, HMO, office, or public space —
get your systems checked properly by a competent, accredited company.
⸻
We still come across sites today with the same issues.
Which is exactly why stories like this — even years later — still matter.
⸻
☕ If you’re unsure where you stand, drop me a message or pop in for a chat.
Always happy to point you in the right direction.

Are wireless fire & security systems actually any good? 🤔
Short answer… yes — when used in the right place.
They’re not a one-size-fits-all solution, but in the right environment they can be a game changer.
⸻
🏢 Where wireless works best
Wireless systems are ideal for:
* 🏛️ Listed buildings
* 🍽️ Bars & restaurants
* 🏠 HMOs & rental properties
* 🏢 Offices that are already finished
* 🎨 Anywhere you don’t want to damage décor
👉 No chasing walls
👉 No surface containment everywhere
👉 No unnecessary disruption to your business
⸻
⚙️ Why people choose wireless
* ⚡ Faster installation
* 🧱 Minimal disruption
* 👌 Clean, tidy finish
* 🔄 Easy to expand later
* 💷 Can be more cost-effective overall (less labour & making good)
⸻
🔥 Why we install Ajax Systems
We’re authorised installers for Ajax because:
* ✅ Reliable, secure wireless technology
* 📱 Full control via mobile app
* 🔋 Long battery life (years, not months)
* 📡 Dual-path communication options
* 🎯 Smart detection (reduces false alarms)
* 🔗 Fire & security all in one system
⸻
⚖️ Honest view
Wireless isn’t for every building…
But in the right setting, it’s one of the best solutions available today.
⸻
💬 If cabling would be messy, disruptive or just not practical — wireless could be the answer.
There’s an easier way… the SAFE way.

BAFE – Full Scope Explained (Design, Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance)
Being BAFE accredited for full scope means a company has been independently assessed and approved as competent across every stage of a fire alarm system’s lifecycle:
• Design – Creating a system in line with standards such as BS 5839
• Installation – Installing the system correctly and safely
• Commissioning – Testing and verifying the system works as intended
• Maintenance – Ongoing servicing to ensure continued compliance
👉 In simple terms: they’re competent from start to finish, not just one part of the process.
⸻
What to Watch Out For ⚠️
Not all BAFE accreditations are equal.
Some companies only hold certification for:
• Fire extinguishers
• Maintenance only
…but present themselves as if they cover the full scope.
That’s where people can be misled.
⸻
Do Your Due Diligence
Before appointing a contractor, take an extra minute to check:
• The BAFE scheme (e.g. SP203-1)
• The actual scope they are certified for
You can verify this directly on the official BAFE register:
🌐 https://www.bafe.org.uk/find-a-company/
👉 This isn’t just good practice — it’s the responsibility of the Responsible Person.
⸻
Remember… there’s an easier way 👇
The SAFE way.
If you want things done properly, compliantly, and without the guesswork — we’ve got you covered.
