This week the Sunshine’s and ducklings enjoyed a visit from zoolab. The children from nursery and reception at Hawes Primary School also came to join us.
We listened to the story of room on the broom except there was a twist of different animals, all of which had come to visit us.
We got to hold and touch the animals feeling the different textures and warmth’s of them. We also got to see how some of them moved along the carpet. We saw a frog, a spider, a giant snail, a snake, 2 cockroaches and 2 gerbils. 🐹 🕷️🪳🐌🐍🐸

Please can everyone use the bottom entrance on Monday and Tuesday next week. They are removing a tree from the disabled access leading from the car park down to town and need to close the area for safety. Thank you

This week in the ducklings room we have been making Autumn soup; mixing, exploring textures, filling and emptying.
We carved pumpkins and made pumpkin pictures. The children enjoyed dressing up in their Halloween costumes for a visit from zoolab and we have been dancing to spooky music developing our social awareness, listening skills and exploring movement. 🎃👻🧛‍♀️🥄🎨👨‍🎨

This week in the Ducklings room we have been exploring different materials; making sensory bottles to take home, playing with the autumn dough, making a giant leaf hedgehog and making toadstool pictures.🦔🍄🌾🎨
We have been developing our fine motor skills using different tools and building with the duplo. We enjoyed singing Di**le dangle scarecrow and our Autumn song, everyone joined in the actions and had a go at singing along.🎶👨‍🌾🪾

This week the Sunshine’s Autumn learning has continued. We have made wreaths and crowns using our leaves from the treasure tray, looking at the different colours and shapes that we could find. Our baking activity was making owl rice cakes using different toppings to make the texture of the owls body.
We finished off our combined harvester that we created together using junk box materials and then sang the big red combine harvester song.

Our learning took a different journey during our week following the children’s interest of SuperPotato. What fun we had creating SuperPotato using potatoes and material to decorate. Cutting and sticking bits on.
We made our very own head bands with big eyes and pretended to be superheroes together, laughing, playing and catching each other.
We role played in the dolls house trying to catch the veggies of doom from the story. 🍁 🍂 🥔🫛 🥬 🦸
