And don’t forget — FREE PSA blood testing is coming to Eversley Village Hall on Saturday 24th October, 11am–3pm.

There are still appointments available, so if you’re eligible, please book — and please encourage the men in your life to do the same. 💙

Worried that having a PSA test might be painful or embarrassing?
A PSA test is a blood test - that's all! Our Man Van team will put you at ease, answer any questions and talk you through what happens.
We offer FREE PSA blood tests to eligible men, and early prostate cancer often has no symptoms, so it’s worth knowing your risk.
Find out when our Man Van will be near you and check your eligibility here:

Does your school have space for some free fruit trees and strawberry plants? 🍎🌳

Veolia - UK, which provides recycling and waste treatment services across Hampshire, is inviting local schools to take part in their Veolia Orchard campaign.

The scheme helps children learn how food grows while creating valuable habitats for wildlife. Schools can apply for five free fruit trees, or ten strawberry plants if outdoor space is limited.

This year, Veolia hopes to plant its 1,000th orchard as part of its growing nationwide "family tree".

Applications must be made by schools by 16 November.

🐝 HELPING OUR POLLINATORS IN EVERSLEY!

Yesterday a representative from Eversley Parish Council attended an informative Pollinator Network training event in Wi******er, organised by Hampshire County Council.

The event highlighted the importance of bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects, the challenges they face and how we can help protect their habitats.

Eversley Parish Council is looking to introduce more wildflower and wildlife-friendly areas around the parish, helping to support pollinators, encourage biodiversity and create valuable habitats for local wildlife.

Allowing selected areas of grass to grow longer, introducing native wildflowers and managing green spaces differently can all make a positive difference.

These small changes are an important step towards creating a greener, more wildlife-friendly Eversley for future generations.

Helping nature thrive, one wildflower at a time!

PLEASE HELP US PROTECT CROSS GREEN POND

Eversley Parish Council has been made aware that children were seen running around in Cross Green Pond this afternoon trampling through the reeds.

Sadly, this has resulted in considerable damage, with many of the reeds flattened and broken.

Although the pond is currently dry, it remains an important habitat for wildlife, which may still be sheltering amongst the reeds.

The pond contains invasive w**d species which can be spread to other areas on the soles of shoes.
The reeds provide valuable shelter and habitat for wildlife.
Entering the pond presents a health and safety risk, even when it is dry.

The Parish Council has invested considerable time, effort into restoring and improving Cross Green Pond, and it is disappointing to see this damage.
We ask all parents to remind their children that the pond and surrounding reeds must not be entered or disturbed. This applies to everyone, not just children.

Please help us protect this special area so that wildlife can continue to thrive and the whole community can enjoy it.

Thank you for your support.
